If it was the pc at fault then there would normaly be a message on the screen saying something like 'no signal being recieved'.

Is there any lights on the screen?

Make sure the 14-prong plugs are firmly connected to the computer and to the screen.

When a PC or Laptop packs up it's always worth a try to see it will boot from the CD/DVD drive (usually runs from the BIOS).

To do this, get the Ubuntu OS ISO and burn to CD, put it in the CD/DVD drive and boot it up. If it boots and runs from memory then there is something else causing the problem, maybe a faulty hard disk.

ISO can be downloaded from here:- http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu)
