Would you pay for seed spuds?,me and my mate spent the day going round a few Gc's looking (for my mate, i prefer Picasso) for Sante, was amazed at the difference in the price from one Gc to another. From £2.50(farm shop near Southwell) to £5.25(posh Gc in Southwell) per 3kg. I payed £3.90 for 3kg of Picasso and Kestrel, and £5 for 6kg of Rocket, everybody had sold out of Charlotte. :'(

oh dear. I paid £3.80 for 2.5kg of arron pilot :-[
Well at least they weren't T+M prices Anemone ;D
Yes, that's what I was comparing with when I thought it was a great deal !
B&Q are selling Charlotte, if they have any left. :)
I've got about 100 T&M potatoes, mainly because they had a patch of free postage, plus some potatoes I wanted to try out, and they work out at about 23p a potato. Is that terrible? Some of them are tiny, and others are huge.
The tragic thing is that the "Beginner's Collection", which contains small numbers of the ones I wanted to try out, are delayed: ".....however they should be with you in the next 2-3 weeks weather permitting". So no chitting yet.
And what does "weather permitting" mean??? They are not proposing to dig them up?.....using snow as an excuse for non-delivery?
A seed potato industry was started in Scotland where the climate kept the aphid vector of virus disease down to low levels. About 70% of British varieties were produced by Scots. Into the early 20th Century the first government seed potato certification was established in Scotland.
Maybe they've had heavy sn :o w lately
hi there
i paid £1.95 each for 2kg of accent, wilja, romano and £2.99 for 2.5kg desiree. i saw in one GC that they were charging £5.99 :o for 2.5kg for all of the ones i have brought.
Paula
I paid £3.99 each for 2kg Cara.
£3.49 for 2Kg Desiree
£2.49 for 1Kg Sarpo Axona
£2.49 for 1Kb Sarpo Mira
But because I bought 3 each of the Sarpo's I got each pack for £2.00.
The Sapro's are T&M but they're one of the very few people who supply Sarpo. I may have paid more than most but they are all good quality seed, perfect size and all of an even size. No great big ones mixed in with tiny little ones.
I noticed that the cost of seed potaties at the East Anglian Potato Day has gone up as well

Use to be 5pence now its 12pence !!
Still a good price Cam... 18p at Ryton in January :-\
Tuckers offer reasonable discounts if you are buying in bulk but you have to phone for a quote.
Jamieson Brothers are quite cheap on certain varieties with discounts for larger quantities eg: a single desiree tuber costs £0.30 or a 25kg sack of tubers costs £15
