Excellent sentiment Jim,unfortunately a lot of charities (in Northampton anyway) won't accept electrical items.

Hospitals don't like TVs on the ward anymore. They all have those TV @ £5.00 a day + phone @£1.00/min multi media rip off things above every bed.

As if being unwell isn't enough, they fleece you while your there.

It is illegal to sell second hand electrical goods from shops, unless they have been checked and certified by a qualified electrician - which is why most charity shops willnot accept them.

However I believe the Heart Foundation will accept/sell them.

Try your local FreeCycle, they are worldwide so there is bound to be one for your area.  Google FreeCycle and then subscribe to their online forum....

I've been a member for a couple of years and this week I've offloaded an old PC tower and acquired 6 lever arch files and  a large box of filing cabinet files....

In the past I've had a gooseberry bush and some rhubarb crowns oh and some honesty seeds.
