Title: Dishwasher experts?
Post by: kenkew on January 30, 2009, 10:40:59
Anyone know anything about Whirlpool ADG 7566 dishwashers?

I have power at the wall outlet but no lights or action at the washer. All micro switches click on/off. There's no wiring diagram with the manual. I'm ok at taking it to bits but a pointer or two might prevent me from rendering the thing even more useless than it is now.
Anyone got any info?
Thanks. Ken.

I've got a bosch but once it cost me £50 to have fixed and it turned out that the outflow pipe had almost jiggled out/hadn't been put in properly to start with and it has a sensor which stops it running if this happens. i have no idea how it senses this but your's just might have something similar you never know.

Yes, I've had that problem too - called the guy out and it took 3 seconds to fix.

There might be a reset button somewhere, or a sequence you have to go through to reset. Sometimes they turn theirselves off when they overheat or damp/cold gets to the micro switches.

But wait a while and somebody who has never owned one or is ever likely to, will come along and ask why you cannot wash up by hand. You know the sort, they are still wearing grandads teeth because 'if they were good enough for him they are good enough for me'.

I've had half of it in bits and I'm thinking a problem with the pump. Sadly I've had to give up and on Tuesday 'The Man' will come.
Anyone got a spare arm and leg... :-\

I presume you have given it a good clean- mine stopped a few years ago- did not use it for 6- 12 months and then thought I would have one last go with it - took all the rotating arms and anything else that would come apart inside the machine and gave it all a good clean and it started working- we are in a very hard water area so may have something to do with it. Good luck

Ok Ace, so why cannot you wash by hand ???

It's an evolution thing, It is a bit difficult to explain to the northern half of the country. But I will try. Down south here for the last 50 years or so we have had considerably more money than the northern hordes. So in a futile attempt to redistibute some of our wealth we have developed a more recreational lifestyle. You will notice I said futile as we kept buying your second rate produce from the north, and in return you keep coming here on holiday and giving us all our money back.

Anyway menial tasks like housework get done by retired old northern tarts who live down here to eke out their pensions. Naturally they cannot be trusted with the best china and family silver so these articals are locked in the dish washer, The poor old skivvy thinks it's a safe (bless her) and will not touch it.

So you can see we have evolved past washing up by hand along with all the other boring tasks around the house.

I have not really got the time at the moment  but if you google washing machine, hooverand gas cooker, you will see some wonderful inventions you could tell your friends about next time you are down by the river washing your clothes

I like doing lots of things by human power, instead of machinery. Like Walking, cycling, digging, etc, dishwashers are o.k. for hotels and restaurants, or folk with more money than time!!  ;)
