Yet more snow is forecast from Sunday through to Wednesday... lets hope I get loads again... (yes, I am a big kid!)
I like the seasons to be as they should - snow and frost in Winter is wonderful!!! (warm wet winters are miserable for me and all the bugs survive that shouldn't)

me too im in donny ;D
I would love some - where are you two then Donny is where? (My ignorance is showing!)
Don't watch forecasts so haven't seen where it is coming from!

I am NE of York (North Yorkshire surprisingly!) - as per my avatar. Unfortunately for you Old Bird, the snow is coming from the East, so you are unlikely to get it in Minehead... as per the forecasts so far

OH does not do snow so it is left for me to take the kids out to enjoy the snow. Oh well. Can't disappoint the kids now can.
Snowmen and snowball fights here we come. Yeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaa ;D ;D ;D
Duke votes for snow too !! ;D
Thanks guys!
Hope we do get snow tho!
;D
It is even forecast in arid Essex! ;D
Well the last two snowfalls earlier this month left us stranded and took us two hours each time to dig ourselves out of our road to get to work, with OH sharing a few expletives or two!
In his infinite wisdom, he decided it was the car that was not gripping which then in effect caused us to be stranded, so off we go and buy a new car which arrived onto our drive just four hours ago!
So now I read on this thread we are due snow in the next few days ::) .....hmmmmm......so will the expletives diminish or will they in fact triple when the new car is put to the test in the snow...time will tell, we shall see ;D
The weather doesn't look so good for next week. Snow again. I don't mind that so much, but it looks like it will be extremely cold along with the snow.
We have winter tyres on at the moment, partly because we often go to Germany in the winter, and it is obligatory there. Insurance is invalid if you have an accident in the winter and have not got winter tyres on.
Came home via Dover one winter after a fall of snow, and I was impressed by their success. Lorries were sliding about and blocking the road uphill out of Dover, but our car was rock steady, and I was able to turn round and leave Dover by another route, also uphill, past cars that couldn't make it. I hadn't really believed in the tyres until then.
Exciting init! Just love snow ;D ;D ;D
Re the snow tyres - couldn't agree more, huge difference and much safer and controlled driving

i love snow, dont forget to make sure you have winter packs in your car and something in your office drawer (cans of soup etc in case you get stuck). And make sure you have a full tank of fuel!!
Feck the snow I want to get my shallots in. ??? ;D ;D ;D
NEWSFLASH!! just started snowing here on the coast! ;D ;D ;D
Let us know when you've got enough to build a snow scarecrow, Tony. ;D
Still waiting for ours -- mind you, it's not forecast to start here (west of London) till around 3pm, according to Metcheck (but continuing well into tomorrow). My two kids will probably have exploded with pent-up excitement before then. ;D ;D
Well, it stopped almost as soon as it started! no snow settled, not even enough for a bloody snowball!! ;)
None here yet! :'(
we have snow little flurries
but they are hardly here at all
lbb
Snow furries here in Rochford Eseex. Don't do snow! Think I'll make make marmalade today. Nice and warm job
Oh, I want ' furries ' too, just sunshine here !
Sorry jeanbean - no harm meant. Looks like we're going to miss it, :(

Will swap with you Flossie. I like the sunshine. My friend Mary and I want to try and get our plot ready but the weather is against us. ??? We tend to get good days when I look after our grandson and wet and wild days when I have the time to go digging. I'll ask the snow to come your way as it is stop start here. ;)
Thanks jeanbean, will make a snow person just for you, ;D

Got a report its snowing 10 miles away so i hope it makes it here :)

Oh dear hopalong, a bit too close for comfort, we are in South Herts. Really don't like the stuff, makes driving daughter into work at 7am very hazardous :o

We were forecast for some wild wintry weather today, here in the North East, but nothing extreme so far. Guess the ground is still a little too soggy, maybe even somewhat frozen, to pick away at the allotment....getting impatient.
A few flurries blowing in the wind an hour ago, now I'm back home it's blue skies and sunshine still bloody cold though. :o ??? ;D ;D ;D
Here in Essex we had about 30 flakes this morning - by the time I had run upstairs to tell the other kiddies (no one in our house under 14) the sun had come out and melted the lot
Snowing in Tamworth
Not sure if we will be getting much here in Dorset - it depends which forecast you read i think!. Just dry dull and very cold here at the moment. essentialy boring TBH.
I quite like snow (when it comes), we have it so rarely these days it is a bit of a treat really. if i am free i like to go out into the ggarden with the camera and take a few photos and generaly marvel at how the snow changes the garden. Unfortunately my appreciation of snow is not enjoyed by the rest of the family. Dad in particular hates the stuff and is like a cat on hot coals when there is any about!
The trouble is that even in the colder parts of the UK, snow comes so infrequently that when it does come we are not used to it. Thats when just a few centimetres can cause havoc, as everyone tries to carry on as normal. Our forebears were much more used to it and knew how to adapt their lives to heavy snows.
So just for those who think what we are about to get is bad, read the info in the following link and it will not seem so bad after all!!

Snowing in West Sussex (hub and son are refelting the shed roof ;D)
Light flakes here in South Birmingham. Started about 1:30 pm. I am with you Lorna. Hate the cold.
We have had snow forecast for up here in Bonny but cold Scotland, we should have ours this afternoon and into Monday but so far it is a lovely day bit on the cold side, chickens are aroaming round the garden and making it a bigger mess then it was before I let them out. Still snow will cover it all and make it look so nice. Got plenty of food, in, fuel to keep us warm in case we get snowed in - exciting.
Regards Cindy
Bitterly cold wind with intermitent light snow flurries here.
Looking very black ower Bills mothers!
;D ::)Sun shinning, but very cold in Swindon. Have next 2 days off so don't want any snow or rain. Desperate to get at my lottie. ::) ;D
Just had the biggest of all the flurries so far. Been out in it digging. Going back out soon ;D
We've had flurries here but it's blowing very hard, my gloves were inadequate, hence here not there.
Went to the plot this mornin and worked for a couple of hours. Started snowing lightly but nowt to talk about. Coming down a bit heavier now here in Sutton Coldfield. Will just have to stay home tomorrow and get them parsnips all ready for the freezer
Nothing down my way yet, we rarely get it unless it comes in from the East, which this lot appears to be. Plenty of freezing temperatures though, couple of weeks back the docks had ice floating in them, which is only the second time in ten years. Fingers crossed we get some, the dogs/kids love it! ;D
Hey no snow down here in sunny Cornwall but heck the wind cuts you in two so not too keen to get digging today.
Welcome to the site Dumpling...
Snowed off now... ;D
we have light flurries in retford notts but its the biting wind that i dont like :-[
snowing on/off in North Yorkshire. started with occasional showers this morning, then heavier ones this pm. laid (just a scattering) on the higher ground near me, but at my house it disappears... At one point it was blizzard conditions on main road from Sutton Bank towards the coast, but this was very high. Hopefully it will lay properly tonight ;D
Wotcha Dumpling!! ;)
Devon Dumpling, welcome to A4A

Just popped up to the plot to get rid of some compost material. It's bitterly cold with a very keen east wind - one couple just finished their digging and a 2 guys with bonfires!
The gritting lorry passed me as I drove home and now the snow's just starting. We don't want too much of it - it's our AGM tomorrow night!
(And a welcome from me, too DD. You'll like it here!)
Warm welcome to A4A, DD :) :) :) :)
started just before midday big flurries and biting wind (http://i280.photobucket.com/albums/kk187/thifasmom/freez.gif) stopped just after 2pm and the sun came out. at minutes to 4 and light flurries beginning again, its settled but not enough to build anything. its suppose to continue till Tue night if the Met is correct :-\.
just took this to show you guys:
just had a smattering of the white stuff, bout 5 mins worth.
Only a couple of flurries of snow today (one of them not so much falling as scuttling sideways because of the icy wind)...
But I'm looking at the weirdest sight right now. In an otherwise cloudless sunset sky, there is one large purple cloud with snow pouring out from under it. Very strange to see... Particularly since I suspect said snow is falling on Heathrow. ::)
hiya, devon dumpling, nice to meet you ;D
only slight flurries here, too much pollution, it melts before it lands ;D
We have a flurrie too, no snowballs yet then !

Wellcome to A4A, But why Devon if ya live in Cornwall.
white over in my part a Notts.
We have a light dusting now here in Manchester. It has been snowing on and off throughout the afternoon, but it hadn't really settled. It is settling now, but not snowing very fast. I love snow, when I am off work! Unless it is going to snow a foot and work is cancelled it just means kids so excited they forget we are working towards exams and a much longer commute! >:(
We had a snow blizzard right at the moment I needed some rosemary from outside for my lamb! We're expecting heavy snow much to the disappointment of my oldest son who is busy doing coursework for his A levels and doesn't want to waste a day. We're only a short distance from school but most of the teachers don't live in the same town so they don't get here when it snows meaning the school closes.
Hi DD, just a quickie for our friends in Scotland do you have McFlurries. ;D ;D ;D

Only a little smattering here.............but sooooo cold
At last... the flurries have stopped teasing us and we know where we are. Which is to say, an inch deep in snow and more piling down thickly.
Now the big question is... will the little uns' school be open tomorrow or not?
For their sake, I rather hope not, even though it puts paid to me getting anything done. ;D ::) ;D
Moon shinning brightly, not a flake in site so far. Swindon, Wiltshire.
Please peeps can you put where you live so I can work out who's got the snow.
And I'll be round for coffee if we haven't got any by lunch time. Snow that is. I'll bring the doughnuts. From the biggest kid on the block. Built for comfort, not for speed ;D ;D ;D

5 or 6 inches here and blowing a blizzard outside
;D no school phew, thought i would have to drag her kicking and screaming as she wants to stay home and play, not that i blame her ;).
Morning Hopalong: sounds like the same blizzard that's sitting over us here in Middlesex. It's not stopped snowing since I clocked off last night, we have 4 inches-plus outside the front door.
Thifasmom, same here -- two frantically excited children have just heard that school's closed for the day. Just as well; we have to travel by tube or bus, and there's precious little of the one and none at all of the other this morning. ;D
We've got it now!!! Chucking it down
Have had to cancel today. Just tried to find out about SW Trains' reduced service - their website has crashed!
8.20 a.m. and no car has passed our house - don't think we'll see the milkman today.

Phoned Capel Manor earlier to see if it was open (usually do a course there on Mondays). They said: "No decision has been made yet but we've got 12 inches of snow!" Think I'll stay at home today! 8)
Well hopalong my worst fears have come true, woke up to around 6" :o Can't get the car out of the garage and needless to say daughter could not get to work. It has started to come down again quite thickly. The birds seem to be enjoying it. The ground feeders however have had to resort to the hanging feeders. We even have blackbirds balancing on the peanut feeder. We are in South Herts by the way.
Hi Molly44, welcome to A4A
a good time to join us when you cannot see the Lottie / Garden for white stuff ;D
we got quite a bit during the night ... about 1 1/2 inches, and still falling.
temp is + 1 C so warmed up a bit ;D
Roads look deadly, absolutely no reason to venture out ;D
3 or 4 inches here in Tadcaster, but we're supposed to get worse this evening.Daughter's schoolis closed, which she is hapy about asshe was uplate last night working on some coursework and still hadn't finished it so can get it done today!
We haven't got as much as predicted but it is snowing again. School is not closed but youngest is sick anyway, oldest just wants to get on with his coursework and worried teacher won't turn up. Notice the weather forecast has changed to snow all week.
At least several inches here and still snowing!
Lot's of snow here in North London. It's a good 5-6 inches deep and also still snowing. It has been all morning. School is closed and I've had to cancel my son's first birthday party today cos nobody can get here :'( still, that's what you get for being born in Feb I guess! At least his sister is off school and his Daddy can't get to work so we'll have a lovely 1st birthday all together :) Keep warm and safe everyone. Enjoy the snow xx
just a sprinkling on the east coast, not enough for a snowball :(
Wotcha Molly!! ;)
It's fantastic!!! I love it!!! Got into work about 20 minutes late - although in all honesty, we didn't set off any earlier, hehe. Stepped out of the front door and disappeared in the snow to just over my shins! Looks absolutely gorgeous around here and I wish I'd brought my camera as my office is on the other side of the road to a forest which looks beautiful. First port of call was to go back out and feed all of the birds ;D ;D Will probably leave an hour or so early though because the roads here are pretty quiet and we've been forecast very heavy snow from about 2pm onwards and we don't want to get stranded on icy roads in the dark, LOL.
I dunno, all the lightweights in schools these days - I remember being at school in snow half way up my legs when I was a kid, even remember winters in school when the heating was busted and we just got on with it! Anything less than a tropical climate and everybody stays home these days ;) ;D
Have fun everybody and take care! :)
Edit: Welcome, Molly. I missed your post first time around :)

Wow, what a night. Went to bed thinking we would not get any snow as it was quite clear and frosty when I went to bed last night. Woke up and put the radio on tho listen to all the snow reports on 5 Live. Seemed as if the now was over east as expected. Then heard that Southampton Airport was closed and decided at that point to look out of the window. Not much but a definite covering of between and 10mm greeted me. i know that's not much compared to what some of you have had, but considering we have not had a substantial snowfall here for about 3 years, and were not expecting any this time, it was quite a surprise.
Currently we have just had another snow shower and the sun has now come out. This makes the view out the window quite picturesque really.

;D ;D ;D ;D woo hoo ...here in bournemouth we have almost a whole inch!! unheard of! over eighty schools closed in county. not ours though unfortunately.

We dont normally get any snow here so that 1 1/2 inches is a huge amount for us!!! :D i am hopeing for more snow later, woo hoo i love it ;D

Panic has set in across southern England following an outbreak of powdery white stuff, known in some parts as "snow". Whole communities have been cut off, including most of Kent, as residents were unable to leave their homes for fear of "being cold" or "getting wet".
"This is possibly the greatest threat to our county since the Second World War," said Douglas Ramsbottom, a spokesman for Kent County Council which is currently located in a top-secret concrete bunker. "We are under attack. Enormous lumps of ice - some measuring as much as three centimetres across - are raining down on us from the heavens. May God have mercy on us all."
The government has appealed for calm. Home Secretary Charles Clarke also confirmed that under his proposed anti-terrorism legislation it would be illegal for snow to fall south of Lincolnshire, and anyone caught in possession of "snowballs of mass destruction" would be placed under house arrest.
The British transport system has predictably ground to a halt, with dozens of trains being cancelled after "the wrong type of snow" fell on some lines. Schools have also been closed in compliance with government regulations about faulty boilers, leaving many children playing outside with the aforementioned snow. Police have warned them not to touch the unknown substance as it may be dangerous.
Panic buying has meanwhile begun in Norwich after a supermarket manager revealed that the city could run out of food in as little as three months if he does not receive any new deliveries. "We are placing restrictions on what people can buy so that, even in the worst case scenario, we'll have enough food to go around," he said. "From today until this terrible weather is over there will be strictly one egg, piece of tofu and carton of Yazoo milk per person. I would urge people not to stockpile food."
Spokesmen for the RAF and the Red Cross said that they have contingency plans for emergency food drops for Norwich, but they only had enough maize to feed three people and a chicken. It is understood that the Disasters Emergency Committee will divert some of the funding intended for victims of the Asian tsunami to this new and much more serious cause, while a charity single is in the offing.
The United States has offered to send in troops to "liberate" the beleaguered people of southern England from the oppressive weather, and that offer is said to be under consideration.
The south of England has not been the only part of the UK to be hit by snow, however. In East Yorkshire some people were late for work because the roads were busier than normal and in Newcastle one local dressed in a t-shirt said that it was "a bit nippy", while in Scotland people built snowmen.
Late news
Police are investigating after a powdery white substance was posted through the letterboxes of several houses in Canterbury. The area has been sealed off and victims have been put into isolation in hospital. A spokesman for the anti-terrorism branch said that so far there had been no fatalities.

Loads of snow here in Bexhill On Sea. We never normally get so much. We haven't gone to work or college today and maybe not tomorrow :) :) :). I love the snow , at least whilst i'm sitting inside in the warm lol.
It's lovely here now- sunny and snowy! Had a nice walk down to town & back without getting snowed on, and just had an email from work saying they are not opening tomorrow. :D
Amazing the diff between Tadcater and 16 miles NE of York... heavy snow again at the moment!!! Yet more - yippeeee (okay, I am on the edge of the Howardian hills, so I do tend to get a bit more than the flat York plain)
What frustrates me though is that we had far more before Christmas, plus temperature lower than -8... did that make the news? no. because this has come to London this time, its in the news everwhere!!!
I have had a flu type bug for 4 weeks, and am still stuck in bed... Otherwise I'd have loved to be walking in the hills from my house - grrrrrrr

snowing heavy again here in east anglia looks like were on about 3-4 inches and its zero so i think were in this for a day or so. My dad in london is a bus driver and he fought his way in for 6am and has been sitting in the garage ever since :( He only fell off his bike once !!
Well this southern jessie woke up to four inches :o and still made he's way to work on foot while all around him stood still, London transport said it was too dangerous for the buses to run, the posties were sent home ( lazy gits), trains were running late and probably now been cancelled, schools closed so OH had to take the day off, the underground has gone to pot, flights cancelled, one bloke on the news has summed it up its like a third world country, still on the bright side Boris has cancelled the congestion charge for the day, hoo bloody raa. :( ;D ;D ;D
I've braved it outside twice. First to the Chemist which was closed because the Pharmacist hadn't arrived :( and then into the garden to take a few pics. (Click on the picture to start the slide show.)

Amazing the diff between Tadcaster and 16 miles NE of York... heavy snow again at the moment!!! Yet more - yippeeee (okay, I am on the edge of the Howardian hills, so I do tend to get a bit more than the flat York plain)
Yes,it's quite an event when we get real snow here! We hardly got any before Christmas. Whereabouts are you-we love the Howardian Hills- pretty without being too steep!

one bloke on the news has summed it up its like a third world country,
cannot stand statements like these and what does the inhabitants of this country know about how developing countries that experience winter weather deal with it, sheesh!!!
I took her in this morning. Well no point 2 of us losing a days wages. I suppose she will ring up later and want a lift home. We only had 1/2 an inch but it gave me a chance of using 4 wheel drive ;D. No point gritting over here, it will be gone in a couple of hours.
This snow does have its uses as I have now found out where the bunnies get in the garden with their tracks. Guess what I have got for dinner tomorrow.

What frustrates me though is that we had far more before Christmas, plus temperature lower than -8... did that make the news? no. because this has come to London this time, its in the news everwhere!!!
mat
Mat, that's because the northern half of the UK is used to yearly heavy snow falls whereas London et al is not. It's headless chicken territory when anything more than half an inch of snow falls here in Essex. It's just ridiculous. What frustrates me more is how this snow has been forecast for the past 4-5 days and still the buses/trains/schools/work come to a standstill. There's no excuse for it.
Still snowing here in W. Essex and I love it! I cleared the path outside of my office about an hour ago and it's covered again already ;D ;D

Both on the today programme and World at one I heard someone from the Highways agency saying that they had managed to keep most of the main roads clear (which is certainly the case around here) and that delays were due to drivers not taking care and having minor accidents which then block the roads.
The interviewers in both cases seemed to ignore this and went on the attack again, saying "you had plenty of warning". Yes they did and they did a good job- it's not their fault if drivers don't know how to drive in snow! They can't win,can they?

Watership down Pie?? ;D ;D ;D
You can't blame anybody really. Who wants a snowplough/gritting lorry paid for from your council tax. I think we can all think of better ways to spend the money. Other countries get by because they get the use of their equipment for far longer and on more occasions. If you needed to be somewhere important today, you should have cancelled your meetings last friday, You knew it was coming. Also whats wrong with working from home via the internet, just like I am supposed to be doing ;D.
I have really got quite a bit sorted today. I have researched £900 worth of plant plugs, £1000 worth of potted roses and still managed a bit of free time on here.

.... I cleared the path outside of my office about an hour ago and it's covered again already ;D ;D
In a nutshell, that's exactly why (for once) I don't think it's fair to blame the London councils, highways agency or Boris.
The gritters were out from yesterday afternoon, gritting all the main roads. And they haven't stopped (one passed me as I was hiking down my high street and what's more, it had a crew on foot with it, spreading shovelfuls of grit on the pavements. Now that's a first - and I'm so grateful. :)
So the grit's there -- it's just buried under 5-inches-plus of snow which fell right through the night, like your cleared pathway.
What else could they have done? For snow like this, you need snowploughs. If you live in Cumbria or Scotland, that's a worthwhile council-tax expense. But this is the first meaningful snow we've had in London since Jan/Feb 2003 - and "the worst in 18 years", according to the Met Office. Being forewarned isn't always enough, I guess.
My husband set off at 7.00 and drove to Leicester (100 miles)- didn't takeany longer than usualbecause although the traffic was slower, there was less of it. Peopleliving half an hour fromthe office rang in saying they couldn't get there, and at 12.00 those who were there were told to go home so he wasback here at 2.15. The course he was supposed to be delivering in Birmingham tomorrow has been cancelled. ::) so now we've both got an extra day off tomorrow. :D
Well it started here at about 7ish and isn't showing any signs of stopping. Got couple of cm's which isn't much but for down here it's a miracle! Dog never seen it before, so naturally started barking, growling and generally causing much hilarity - other one sat there, stared at it a bit, looked thicker than usual and went to eat his dinner ;D
Well,we didn't get the downfalls that were forecast last night, only wet stuff, so school's open again today. but driving my daughter there this morning wasn't much fun, stilllots of snow & ice on local roads. It's sunny now so hoping that will melt the remaining snow before it freezes again tonight.
After quite a significant thaw yesterday afternoon, the smow came back again last night and replaced what had thawed away. This morning woke to a nice covering so dashed out and took some photos. Then the sun came out and it began to thaw again. Snowing again now though and still bitterly cold.
last night during and just after the snow was quite eerie. the local area was so quiet, no passing traffic or any sound of human activity at all. Now even at the quietest of times there is usually some noise from passing traffic but last night nothing. its strange the effects snow can have.
Kids are off school, the local college I was conducting interviews in closed shortly after ten. Then it threw another hour of heavy snow at us. Bright sunshine now, but apparently more due tomorrow and Thursday and possibly into the weekend. Very pretty, but ungritted roads and pavements are horrendous!
Pavements were very slippery on the way to work on the back roads, the main roads are pretty clear, the sun is out but no signs of thawing. Isn't it amazing though all these people off work but none of the lazy barstards will clear their paths or the fronts of their houses. >:( :o :-X ;D ;D ;D
;D
If folk clear the path in front of their house, and you then fall over on it, guess what ? you can sue them for not doing a proper job!! ;D ;D ;D
More snow forecast for the South again tomorrow ;D I'd be happy with Monday all over again ;D
That will be fun more snow ;) .
taking a friend to hospital tomorrow and picking up some shopping on the way back hoping i make it before the snow as i am not sure how my new car will cope with snow :)
Woke up this morning at 5 am..........and 2-3 inches of snow on the ground here in Northamptonshire.
Ankle deep and still coming here in Derby... ;D
Snowing now in Barnsley,
When it stops the onion sets are in ;D ;D ;D
3 to 4 inches here in Warwickshire
We thought we'd seen the last of it but no, woke up to about another inch, very slushy & slippy now though :o
Not life-threatening here, but messed up the Dental appointment!
;D Boss just told me to stay at home. Was due to do inductions in Bristol. RE arranged for Monday. Snowed most of the night, OH on holiday at moment so he's pleased I'm home. But won't get paid for it. Only 1 lane open on M4 between Swindon and Bristol. About 5 inches of snow. What area are you garden girl? :) :)
Snow falling steadily on ice here on the edge of Staffs. I was supposed to be going up to The Borders this weekend, but that looks like it's off. I can walk the 3/4 mile to town no problem, but getting the car out is a no -no. OH took the 4x4 this morning & phoned back to say he was having fun sliding on the main roads. Spookily quiet with so little traffic which all adds to me going quietly stir crazy working at home in my loft all week.
If I start posting weird stuff, just ignore me.
Snow started here about 3.30am ish and did not stop till 7am so were on about 3 inches, under that is sheet ice and its very dangerous outside!! They were apparantly due to grit at 8am :(
Felt for the radio Derby announcers this morning and their 11 page list of school closures.
Youngest is delighted - his school was the only one in this area that opened on Wednesday, but even they've had to give up today because the buses couldn't get through. As the bus picks up in our village at 10 past eight, would have been nice if they'd notified us before 9.35 though. We still aren't on the list ::) although that's where the school said they would put details.
Sally
Another inch or two here in Birmingham overnight, which means the City has ground to a halt, no trains or buses, schools and collages closed irrespective of staff getting in or not.
However, long queues reported to get in & out of all the supermarkets and Blockbusters. ???
it rained here last night so our is finally melting :'(
on a good note the ground is soft so may get the last minute buy of garlic in the ground today.
It's raining here in Surrey now and the snow is melting fast. :'(
But yay - I'll be able to get to the lottie at the weekend! ;D

Was supposed to be at the Queen Elizabeth this morning.
Have too much experience of Birmingham roads in the snow so I cancelled. :)
Last lot had almost gone at teatime Wednesday, but steady fall overnight and continues now ..... about 1 inch level but not freezing
Just managed to clear a footpath down the drive, almost a pleasure ;D ;D
We are about to venture out for a walk in Willingham Woods (about 1 mile away)
It's drizzling here too, so the snow is melting - but it always seems to stay longer in our road because it's never gritted and there isn't much traffic. Recycling bins not collected today.
Snow completely gone by yesterday evening but woke up at 6.30am this morning to find about 4ins of snow, has stopped snowing now. Dog (KC Spaniel) wasn't content to just go straight out in the garden and do what ever she needed to do, just kept shuffling round and round, when she came in I had to remove lumps of snow from her stomach. Next time I will buy a Greyhound ;D. Son-in-law had my car overnight returned it at 7am this morning, I told him to leave it outside in the road. I have just put it in the garage as there are still idiots driving down our side road far faster than is safe.

just heard we are forcast another 10ins at some point in the week/next week have i heard right?? :)
Pah, no snow here in W. Essex >:( It's all rain and it's washing away what's still around. Although it's a heck of a lot easier to walk about now. I'd done several impressive torville and dean moves whilst on my way to various places (not excluding my office and there's CCTV outside :-[)
the_goodlife - I hope so! ;D ;D I know we've been forecast snow showers early tomorrow but nothing on Monday's scale - and it won't settle now anyway, it's too wet out there. Ah well, it was fun while it lasted :)

What area are you garden girl? :) :)
We are in South Herts Taurus. Been raining here this morning which has made the pavements even more slippy with the hard lumps of icy snow turning to slush. Nearly slipped over a few times when walking round to our local shops this morning :o
Been raining on and off all day clearing most of it but the side roads and pavements that nobodys attempted to clear ( lazy barstards ) >:( have got worse now its getting colder again. :'( ;D ;D ;D
Same here Kev... and the radio have just given out heavy snow overnight for the East Midlands... (Shame!) Main roads clear but still loads on side roads and pavements. I listened to that list as well Timnsal... but Derby Moor didn't post either so I drove Andy there to be turned round at the gate.. I mentioned the snowline and was told they were going to do it now... ::)
I think my two were the at the only school open in Derby today! They were not best pleased!
My son has just run out of the house to go and play out, wearing warm gloves, a wooly hat, two big jumpers, and.........shorts?! ::)
I wouldn't have minded the omission so much, except for the message on the school's website to check on radio Derby and the link to their website ::)
Sally
Well - we can now get to the freezer.
But at my age, it was quite a task!!
Some have a bit more fun than others ;D ;D

Fantastic Sam.
I can't see it Sam. need to install Adobe AGAIN.
Its been snowing off and on all morning but just the fine stuff so no problems. Its going to be an exceptionally cold night though. I keep thinking of the poor folk who are homeless. How do they sleep out in conditions like it is just now.
there was an article in 'the big issue' on this 2 weeks ago!
Loved the video Sam :)
Deb P is your son going to be a postie then?? ;D ;D ;D
