Title: Minced Pork
Post by: Doris_Pinks on January 28, 2009, 09:11:53
Couldn't leave a pack reduced to 50p.......on a tight budget at the mo, so it was calling to me!
So here's the thing, I know I can do meatballs, sweet n sour something, thai something or whatever...but does anyone have a good recipe for minced pork that isn't chinesey (had it on the weekend) and not meatballs(just don't fancy them today!)
Was thinking of making it into a type of bolognaise and wrapping in pancakes....................but can I be faffed to make panckes! ;D
Any tried n tested recipes out there?

Get yourself some ready frozen pastry ......Cook the minced pork with some fresh sage onions and and diced cooking apples......add a little stock....(you can also add some diced potatoes). Simmer for about 40 mins....Leave to go cold .....With the pastry turn them into PORK AND APPLE PASTIES!!

I make pork burgers. either to go in a bun or wrap in breadcrumbs.
Mix it with onion, minced garlic, an egg to bind it, then add and oxo, spices herbs or flavorings you have in your cupboard that you fancy. sometimes I add finely chopped chillies if I want to turn them into hot spicy ones. A lb of mince makes 4 good size burgers. mould them into rounds and roast them off in the oven.
Or do the same thing but add some water and some stuffing mix and put in a loaf tin.... Meatloaf! yummy covered in gravy
