In answer to the Q yes but watch for ants, esp in summer!  :)

I have made banana cake before but when i took it out of the oven it went flat? Any chance of a recipe Caroline?? Please ;D

Will make a note to watch out for ants! Compost bin is coming along lovely put some shredded paper in there today to balance it out. Surprising how quick its filling up!

I would be lost without this site lol

.. and after you've eaten the banana bread, compost the banana skins, or even chuck them in your flower beds to rot down there, I know they are rich in something good for flowers :)

"Recycle Now" is an excellent website for composting information.

The secret of composting is not to keep looking at who or what is in it. Any decent compost heap will have countless millions of bugs and other low lifeforms and they are all doing a useful job. Even the slugs.

Hi

I have a no-fail Banana and chocolate chip cake that is very easy to make - one in the oven as I speak.  I will pop it in the recipe section for you.

Enjoy

The recipe I use is a Nigella one. There's a rather long-winded version of it here:

Freeze the peeled banana wrapped in clingfilm and then when you have a few put them in the food processer with either double cream, vanilla extract and a bit of icing sugar or just plain yoghurt if you are feeling healthy. Instant ice cream!

I put banana peel in the compost bin!
