hi gang. what magazines doe everyone read? im toying with grow your own. is it any good. :)
kitchen garden was my favorite.
I like both the above but they are quite expensive. I get Gardeners World monthly because I had some Tesco clubcard vouchers to use up and you can get it with them! They also have free offers every month (which get posted on here by kind souls when they are veg related!).
I pass on the mags to an OAP nearby whose garden is more immaculate than mine will ever be (!) and he enjoys them too - it's nice to do this with old mags when you can!
Kitchen Garden is my favourite too - they do some good offers on seed and plant collections
If you can cope without the free seeds attached to the magazine, you can save money by getting a digital subscription here: http://www.zinio.com/gncoffer?issn=1369-1821&of=ZH01&ns=gbr
£18 per year. And it's much easier to store the back issues!
kitchen garden for me, though recently I have occasionally bought "Grow It" and have found that sensible and practical too. "Grown Your Own" I tend to find gears its reviews etc, towards the more expensive products (i.e. catering for the city folk with more money) though it has started to improve over the few "years" its been out.
I like garden news and I also enjoy Gardeners world :)
I can never part with them.
Bought a subscription to Gardeners World for my mum,she is really pleased with it.
I think the subscriptions are a great gift idea.
For the last 2 years I have had Gardener's World and Gardens Illustrated (posh one) on subscription. This year money is tighter as I am setting up new business so we haven't renewed them. I love both mags but not sure we ever read them all the way through. I think it would be good if a couple of people could buy them together and share them, they are REALLY expensive these days!
I subscribe to Grow Your Own. If you check their website they usually different have subscription offers on each month available to new subscribers and those up for renewal.
Or put them on your wish list when Birthday, anniversary and Christmas come round :)
why bother with magazines?? you can get better and faster advice on here!! ;D ;D
Not the same Tony, sometimes it is just relaxing to settle down and read a mag :)
Still a bit of a mag tart here while I decide which to subscribe to. I buy the one (or more...) that seems most useful / interesting that month. It's always either `grow your own' or kitchen garden'. I really can't decide. I do seem to have slightly more GYO than KG but that could be down to time rather than preference.... :-\
Sometimes you get lucky and see a pile in the second hand shops, really cheap.
Obtained lots of my gardening books this way :)
I subscribe to Organic Gardening, it used to be really good and different to a lot of the mainstream mags. But it has been taken over and is now very similar to Kitchen Garden. I may give up my subscription.

I agree!! Most allotment sites up here don't have WiFi connections so it's nice to have something to read while taking a break. :)
I prefer GW but have dabbled in Kitchen Garden and Gardens Monthly.

I know!! I subscribe to loads of mags, and read loads more at college in the 'learning resource centre' (library in old money) ;)
I was given a subscription to Kitchen Garden as a birthday present. I like it a lot but rarely have time to read it all. I used to get GW but found it very samey after a bit. Mind you I suppose gardening is once you've worked your way through a couple of seasons.
I like Grow Your Own, I find it quite informative and it explains things very well. Also the freebies are pretty good too ;D
Hi
I have a pile of kitchen garden and grow your own from last year if anyone wants them! I am in Kent or I can post them by the cheapest means if anyones interested!
