Title: blueberry bushes

i bought a couple of blueberry bushes and want to grow them in pots is this possible, what is the best compost or soil or mix of both for them and should i be putting them outside yet they are still packaged at the mo so cold keep them like that a bit longer what do people think

All my blueberries are in pots in ericaceous compost.  You could also put them in the ground as long as you give them an acid enviroment.  I'd put them out now, they won't do well kept in packaging.  They're hardy so the cold won't affect them (except don't put them in the ground if it's frozen hard).

I've been tempted to buy a couple of blueberry bushes but although most of the ones for sale in the catalogues say they say they are suitable for patio containers, they all seem to say they grow to 5 - 6 foot. Surely this is too big for the average container? Do they really grow that big and if so, over how many years?

My blueberries are grown in the open, and my Bluecrop bushes have only reached some 3 ft after 5 years.
There are also dwarf varieties, such as Sunshine blue that are suitable for tubs.
