It is forecast gale force winds and torrential rain here in the north east.  I have just built a new 60ft garden fence this week, 6ft high.  Posts, rails, boards and coping; the whole shebang.  The true test of my work will come tonight with the results tomorrow........ if its still standing 8) 8) 8)

Lovely sunny day today at the allotment and not too cold.  That is Enfield which is north London.   Another load of compost arrived from the Council, so got one wheelbarrow of it, and then did a bit of weeding, tidying up and a bit of talking (actually a lot of talking).  Planted some hyacinth bulbs and daffodil bulbs that were Xmas presents that had died down, hopefully they will come up on the allotment next year.  As I was digging/weeding dug up a few bulbs that I had forgotten about but re-planted them.  Can't wait for Spring/summer.

Not far from Borlotti, about the same during the afternoon - but

wind getting up now, had rain but seems to be passing.

In Southeast so think we might miss it - good luck with all your fencing

and sheds etc - do hope you don't suffer any damage.

Was lovely all day in N Yorkshire, no wind at all really.  Its starting to blow hard now tho...  I yhope my tiles last...

I hope your fence lasts KT Lawson, esp after all your hard work... I am so glad I have a hedge now and not a fence, I used to dread gales in my last house.

A wild night here in Sussex - looking at the bird feeders from the window and the occasional horizontal position being adopted  :o, aerial seems to be joining in as the TV signal is very snowy, but we need the rain, we really do!!!

Went up the Lotty for a couple of hours this morning and it was one of those lovely sunny but cool spring mornings. (we are in Durham) I saw the forecast last night so spent most of my time tidying up anything that might blow away. Around tee time we got a moderate wind and a bit of rain but its calm and dry now :D

Went to work about 4pm and it wasn't bad at all, quite warm and not windy.  Got home at 11.30 pm to tbe told my greenhouse had blown down, and a panel was missing etc.  all my plants and seedlings all over the place.  Am devastated to say the least. Could have been worse at least someone was home to try and stop the lot blowing away.

Blowing a gale last night at 7pm when I finished work.  Winds died down now
(7am) but still raining in Swindon,Wilts.  We're on clay here so if this keeps up we'll be under water by the end of the day.
Sorry to here about your greenhouse Lou.

Not as bad as I had expected.  Lost a few pots of broad beans as they were trampled over when OH was trying to save greenhouse.  Will just have to start some more.  Found all the missing panels in the neighbour's garden.
