I am trying my hand at 2 types of Butternut Squash this year, both from T&M.  Avalon F1 is a trailing type which can be evasive.

But the favourite one I am looking forward to is Harrier F1.  The plant is supposed to be compact and grow about 3x3ft,  18 inches high, with 4-5 fruit on each.  It is also the fastest variety for seed to harvest,  maturing from August after as little as only 85 days.  So if the weather is a bit out, then I have a couple of months for them to mature to catch up. (That's my plan anyway 8) 8).....

Last I grew

Celery:  Blush  http://www.plantsofdistinction.co.uk/acatalog/A-Z_of_Vegetables_CELERY.html/acatalog/Online_Catalog_Celery_261.html
(http://www.plantsofdistinction.co.uk/acatalog/A-Z_of_Vegetables_CELERY.html/acatalog/Online_Catalog_Celery_261.html)
Celery : Victoria F1 (self Blanching) POD (http://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/uk/en/product/903/1)
Celery : Tango F1 (self blanching) TM (http://seeds.thompson-morgan.com/uk/en/product/517/1)
Celery : Granada F1 SBS
(http://www.seeds-by-size.co.uk/)

and was pretty happy with all of them. Tango was probably the best in flavour. Golden F1 Self-Blanching was pretty good back in 2007 but was quite vulnerable to early cold spells.

I'm going to try some non-F1's this year:
Utah  http://www.kingsseeds.com/kolist/1/3/11405.htm (http://www.kingsseeds.com/kolist/1/3/11405.htm)
Giant red http://www.kingsseeds.com/kolist/1/0/11401.htm (http://www.kingsseeds.com/kolist/1/0/11401.htm)

Apart from Golden F1, I've probably got some spare seeds for most of those mentioned. PM me if interested.

I liked celery - Solid Pink. Out of seed for it at the moment - bought a couple of years back from Organic Gardening Catalogue. Not sure if it is in this year.

Celery & I don't get along, so I'm no help there.

With squash, I'm beginning to go off the pumpkins - grown Baby Bear for several years - as they don't have the sweet flavour that the squashes proper have. I've grown Sweet Dumpling, Butternut & Kaboucha and I like them all for flavour.

But Jeannine is the expert: last year she recommended loads of varieties I'd never even heard of. If you do a search, I'm sure you'll find several of her contributions.
