Anyone know what these are (http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm265/Buster1954/DSCF0324.jpg)
Dropped of the back of a trailer yesterday, can't have them littering the street ;D
My first thought was of a stunted parsnip. My second thought is of some sort of beet used for animal feed. I think sugar beet is more of ablack colour.
Boil them up with some rabbit and see what they taste like...... ;D
Yes I think they are sugar beet (http://i298.photobucket.com/albums/mm265/Buster1954/sugarbeet.jpg),just been reading up on it says they transport them Jan to Feb to the factory's to have the sugar extracted just tried a bit raw it tastes like a sweet mild flavoured turnip gonna try some grated on my salad this dinner time,if you don't hear from me again don't try this at home ;D

It's sugar beet. cut up, crush, extract liquid, reduce liquid, = pure mollasses-type sugar, yummy!! ;D
I'm with the sugar beet people - lived near sugar beet factory as a child and was constantly trying to make sugar out of road kill....
