the worlds gone mad we want to buy a footballer...cost £100 million....and pay him £50 million a year wages for chasing a bag of wind round a field f*****g b*****cs
It is even worse Jimtheworzal. Some people are trying to convince everyone else how good it is for the Country.
Have to go and dunk my head in cold water a couple of times now.
Bill
i find this Footballers thing quite odd.
If you work for a company and you earn the company £1,000,000 why wouldnt you want to get a decent percentage. There is millions of pounds that these guys make their clubs. Why shouldnt they get a decent share ?
Also, they have a very short working life. mid 30's to 40 at the most.
On top of that, the guy who owns this club wants to spend the money so thats his choice. Some people might think that ploughing money into a bit of dirt would be a waste of money. We dont.
It really doesnt bother me at all. If he can get it good on him. If my guv'ner said they would pay me that I would not say no. In fact I would have her arm off.
The only that gets my goat is that one man does not make a team, so others in the club should be rewarded too. It is a lot of money, but then thats football.
Think about motor racing. Its Eddie Jordans money. Who has the right to tell him how to spend it ? He earned it or his family did.
On a far more mundane level... the Govt is talking of giving "good" teachers £10,000 for doing 3 years in a "bad" school. Having done 15 will I get £50,000 back pay? I could retire!
;D

Glad you can laugh about it, Dave- it's a complete insult to most teachers!
