Title: Under foot
Post by: Plot69 on January 10, 2009, 20:03:44
My wife says I got to go down my plot tomorrow, I get under her feet when she's cooking Sunday roast.

Anyone got any ideas what I can do when I get there?

If it's too cold, turn round and go down the pub ;D

Good time to catch up on all the lottie gossip (if there's anyone there to gossip to). Have a hot cuppa and do lots of planning for the coming season. Fix up shed/greenhouse so's it's ready for the summer, sharpen/clean tools (if they havn't been pinched). Turn compost heap (my job for tomorrow). Or, as Nilly71 says, go down the pub, it's warmer there :)

Haven't you got the weekly collection to do? Leeks, Sprouts, Carrots, Parsnips and cabbage... then cut off to the pub for a swift beer or two...  ;D

There's always people to talk to - you're doing vital inter-personal-communication needed to keep the site vibrant & on-going (or some rubbish like that).

Alternatively, cook Sunday lunch yourself & send her down to the lottie to get cold!

I'm not really a pub person... I wouldn't know anyone there.

Chances are the only one there will be Frank, he's Italian, I'm English... I'll end up like last time, neck ache from all the nodding and smiling.

Shed's fine, GH is fine, tools (Stainless steel) all clean, heap turned last time. And my flask is all cleaned and primed ready  ;)

They've all been got ready for Sunday. If I'd known she was going to kick me out I'd have left them till Sunday.

Or in the case of Frank, someone to nod politely to and pretend you understand what the hell he's talking about.

There's always that I suppose. Although, being a Foster Parent how would I explain giving 6 kids salmonella to Social Services?

You and me both. Are we the only two on here that don't go down the pub? Everyone else on here sound a right load of p**s heads  ::)

Think I'll just take my flask and my iPod and have my own private party in my shed.

Yes.
I did visit the plot to dig 2 beautiful parsnips & a leek for tomorrow dins. & some frozen sprouts for tonight & tomorrow dins.
Ground is only frozen a couple of inches & it's gonna thaw now.
Amazingly the flying rats haven't touched the brassicas (netted)?
