Whenever I click on the "new" button to open a thread, it opens at the bottom of the page rather than at the newest post. I'm sick of seeing that BillyOhBudget ad now! Anyone know what's wrong?

Same here, very annoying.  It's just changed recently - Dan making us look at the adverts?

Glad it's not just me- but not glad if it's something I can't change! >:(

It's the same for me...I'm always reading quotes on threds like..."What so and so said above". For me it's always below
For me the newest post is always at the top of the page. How can I change it?  :'(

Lauren, if you go into "Profile" at the top of the screen, then click on "Look and layout" , there should be an option about where you want the newest post. Either check or uncheck it.

I used my hyusband'scomputer last night and it seemed to be fine, but it's still doing it on mine this morning. ???

I think it has something to do with the ad for the sheds, on threads where there is a different ad, it doesn't do it! ???

We have already mailed Dan, so i don't know what else to suggest really....it is a right pain in the neck though! It is putting me off browsing around as much as I usually do!

I am hating it too, but I would just say that I had been looking at their website before it was on here, as it was recommended by a friend who had one delivered and she was most impressed - delivered in 5 days.  I have been in it and it certainly looks good.

Some of the sheds they have are the same as in Homebase but much cheaper, the one we were looking at was getting on for £100 cheaper late last year for 8' x 6' Billy-oh I think it is called.  So for anyone who really needs a shed it might be worth looking at. ;)

But I really do still agree, it is such a nuisance and I wouldn't click on the link!

A browser with a built in ad blocker would 'fix your problem'

I don't see a single ad on this website (sorry Dan  :-*)

But surely taking an extra 2 seconds to scroll up the page is no big deal really?

Sorry, but it is when you have to do it on every thread.

So what browser and ad blocker do you have that fixes the problem?

Hi Ceres,  I use Maxthon with a built in blocker.  I am also having to scroll from the bottom to the top but luckily without the ads :)

I'm just used to going straight to the last post I looked at. When you use the site a lot it is just plain irritating to have to keep scrolling back to find the last post you read all of the time. It isn't consistent, some (most) posts it does it, some not, it appears to be linked to particular ads like the shed. In the big scheme of things it isn't a big deal I agree, but if it could be fixed, why not ask?

If you are having to scroll up as well, it looks like blocking the ads won't solve the problem either........DAN!!!!!! HELP!

I never look at the adverts, but it is starting to irritate me now.  Why land at the bottom of a thread?   I realise now I have been doing it for some time now but just accept things.  It is annoying.

i dont see the ads either, sorry dan (but i do pay my subs and spend on amazon)
i dont mind 'having' to scroll up but i can never find where i should be, thats the whole point of clicking on new surely?

when I open up a page, (I use firefox) I right click and choose "open link in new tab" it then opens to the top of the page, not the bottom.

And not enough people have complained.  I don't beleive that Dan reads many threads so he probably hasn't seen this one.  He pops up when his inbox has been flooded with complaints.

Not as many problems. Still doing it sometimes, though.

Only just seen this but, surely, this is one of the ways that Dan pays for the service he gives us, which is FAR better than on any other Forum?
