happy new year everyone, got some long sweet red peppers today from Morrisons (their Best range), I don't normally like peppers but really enjoyed these does anyone know the name of them and if so do you think they can be grown here in a greenhouse.would love to have a go at growing them they were that nice
try saving the seeds from them, we got some in cornwall 2 years ago and managed to grow some last season..if you want some seed, long red marconi are a good one :)
Pepper seeds save well. (They couldn't be easier, could they?)
I saved F1 Gypsy for years. You can't save F1's - that's what we're all told - but these just got better & better - and earlier & redder - year after year.
Give it a go! What's to lose?
the variety i bought which were succesful last year are authentic italian seeds and called peperone/Pepper Reubens came from t and m though have loads if you would like some? ;D
edited to add also have some big banana ones too
Have sent you a P.M.
rgds, Tony
Last Autumn, when preparing one of my Gypsy peppers for the pot, I noticed that the seeds inside the pepper had already started sprouting. I popped the seeds onto damp paper and they continued sprouting. They look so good that I think that I will pot them up for this year.
thanks for your reply's have taken up tonyblokes offer(thanks again tony) and as a first ,am going to try to save some of the seeds too. I hadn't thought of doing that ???
