;) Which seed catalogues are you all ordering this year? And which ones do you reckon are best for getting your sap rising? I've only got the usual so far and am looking for something a bit more exotic this year.
you can't get more exotic than jungleseeds... ;D
Chilternseeds are fairly strange as well...
;D
Catalogues I have received were DT Browns and Dobies. I have ordered a few packs of seeds from Mr-Fothergills and T&M; but 85-90% of my order comes from Kings.
Just got the Seeds of Italy catalogue......................help!!!!
I have only to get my carrot and parsnip seed this year. Still have some from last year.Managed to save quite a lot of my own seed.
I have all of the usuals and just over-ordered yet again. So much for that resolution!
You could try Real Seeds (Google it). Their list has major drool-appeal for me anyway....lots of ususual heritage varieties with interesting names. The Garden Organic catalogue is always worth a read. I always end up ordering too many seeds, so I'm trying to be more disciplined this year....but of course it won't last. ::)
Plants of Distinction
The Organic Gardening Catalogue.
Rated very highly in a Which magazine on seed germination They're in Surrey
For paper catalogues (not websites) I like Crocus because the photos are really nice, even though they don't put all their plants in the catalogue. And they put nice looking combinations together.
Whereas some of the catalogues like Suttons or T&M have tiny poor quality photos of squillions of plants in alphabetical order - they seem to clash.
Another good web site that shows a good photo and gives all the info you'd ever need and then some is
eseeds .com
It's paper catalogues I'm looking for - I can be a bit more disciplined with them. Plus I can take them to bed with me...
