Seed potatoes arrived in our local B & Q this morning
Are they any good. Only had two varieties last year. Must say they seemed to grow OK. Anyone else bought them yet.
They should be ok but i think its a bit early for them to be selling seed potatoes.
Think it pays to get your seed spuds as early as possable to avoid disappointment
B&Q at Middlesborough retail park have their spuds in.
We are getting 50 sacks of over 16 varieties delivered to our lottie shop from a supplier in Scotland on Friday. I will be buying mine on Saturday once we have weighed them into smaller bags for customers. Kestrel first because they always sell out first no matter how many we get.
Wyvale get their pots in next week ;D
we will get our two main varietys and we are going to the potatoe day on 14th Feb in Dorset so we can try just a few of 4 varietys to see if we like them :)
how do you store to avoid too early chitting?
Hilliers have had them in for about a week now.

I just remove mine from the netting and place them loosely in plastic trays. There they stay until planting time. Does not really matter about early chitting. Just ensure you don't snap off any of the shoots when planting.
Lauren S do you not think that Wyvale are a bit pricey for there stuff...and snap KT i do the same with mine
Are kestral early spuds then.
If you are going to Wyevale to buy your spuds do it soon according to the F Times yesterday they may not be around for long
Oh no! no more cheap seeds at the end of the season. Just hope Wilko's are safe.

Just consulted my supplier and they are listed as second early.
Homebase in Derby have them out too, but outside in Sub-Zero is not good for them... :-X
Homebase, B&Q, Wilkinson's and the like do not have a clue on how to keep seed spuds and bedding plants to the standards they require
