When out with the dog the other day I came across the most beautiful aroma! The only thing I could see in bloom was this... A quick look in my wildflower book suggests it's Marsh Trefoil aka Bogbean or Buckbean. None of the descriptions mentions the perfume which makes me wonder if I've got the right plant. Anyone able to put me wise please? Not come across it on this path before in 6 years of walking here.
Try again? :-\
Possibly winter heliotrope, but I don't have a decent pic. What size was it?
Here's Robert's suggestion:

That does look a lot like it Redclanger
Oh yes! Definately it and the smell was that of Heliotrope. Thanks very much folks. Wouldn't mind some in my garden. Might just have to take a trowel and bag on my walk tomorrow ;D

You will regret it, as it is very invasive.
Then perhaps I'll leave it and admire it where it is. Thanks Ace.
