It's rather depressing that sunrise gets no earlier for a bit....

There are both North-South and East-West anomalies with this.  The further north you are, the later the sun will rise and the earlier it will set in Winter (this is of course reversed in the summer) and even at the same latitude as London, the sun will rise and set at different times - but the diurnal length will be the same)  So, even though I am only a few miles west of the Greenwich Mean Line, the London times and not accurate - it is interesting though so thanks.
