My wife has decided to invite the 5000 to our house for Christmas dinner. Well at least 16 of them anyway. 16; for Christmas dinner! What a pain in the ass its gonna be doing all that cooking. You can bet your ass I ain't doing no pots. Noooo way. How many are you cooking for on the day? Anybody wanna swap 8) 8)
YES I WILL SWOP, hAHAHA, KT, i uaually cook for 11 each year,
this year my son is in Nepal for 2wks, eldest daughter is working all day so we are getting together in the New Year, only 6 of us boxing day very easy lunch to cook.
Good luck to you enjoy your lunch. ;D ;D
8 of us Frogs and a cat.
No cooking for me ;D Next door at young Lorna's for Christmas and Boxing Day dinner. However, I will be preparing food and also do all the washing up. There will be 6 for dinner on Christmas Day and 8 for dinner on Boxing Day. 13/16 for Boxing Day tea.
I had better take plenty tea towels!!!!
Only 3 of us and the cat for Christmas dinner this year, instead of the usual 6 or more. It will be very intimate and a bit eerie. Our son's in Cambodia and our nearest relatives, and friends we used to invite to join us, have all passed away. We'll be having goose instead of turkey for a change and going for a vigorous walk afterwards instead if slumping in front of the telly.
6 here for Chrissy Eve, Chrissy Day and Boxing Day.
Pop into chat hopalong and share what we are all cooking :)
Two ;D

Agree! Don't know how many of us will be together tomorrow...dunno yet
what we're eating (OK, we're eating sprouts, that I
do know 8)), don't know
where we'll be eating, tho spect it'll be at the house which has the biggest table once everyone's arrived & we've done a head count cos my friend's table will only seat 8, haven't a bloody clue
when we're eating whatever we're eating (nother sprout anybody?)...all I DO know is that we've got lots of bubbly and orange juice lined up (an the OJ is optional) and we're kicking off at 11....
I'm not cooking for anyone- my son is cooking for 11 tonight and my hubby for 10 tomorrow. :D
Just about to finalise numbers, 5 at the moment but may have three more if they haven't got the gas back on in Rawtenstall yet!! ;D

;D Doesn't SIL have a Civic Duty to stay and cook many, many, many turkeys (with veggie variations of course 8)) for those still disconnected ::).....oh! not forgetting the 300+ gasmen working to get everything sorted - spect they'll be grateful for a turkey sanch or two ;)
Last count.....7 to eat together and coz the table's filling up we've gotta PlanB cos a couple of the 7's gotta table that'll seat 14...think it's gonna be a Moveable Feast ;D An I've heard from the friend who has a free-range/organic smallholding of 60acres in Glos & he's delivering to me an Aylesbury duck and a capon laterz. An other stuff...time to google 'stuffings' - and see what I find ::) :P ;D
This is beginning to be FUN! 8) ;D
Two weeks ago there was only gonna be Tony and myself but due to circumstances there will now be five of us. My daughter and 2 teenage grandaughters are coming. We are all off to see Mom in the morning.(Thought it best to leave her to have Christmas at the care home just in case it upsets her) She has lots of friends there now too. Then all back home to get the dinner ready. The 1 girl is quite fussy but I'm sure we will find something for her to eat.
Reminds me of mother-in-law in home, she said they did a lovely dinner at Christmas and as she was paying for it was grateful for my invitation but thought their dinner might be better than mine (she was probably right, but old people like children tell the truth). We took her for a quick trip out in the morning in the wheel chair but she got too cold but came to tea but as the grandchildren were noisy asked to go back to the home early. Well I agree with her, they do put on a good spread at Christmas, and when you get old children can be noisy. The only thing we found about the home was it was so hot (for us, but not for them) and every time I went they all thought I was the hairdresser. They seem to have quite a good time in these home (good ones) and it much better than sitting alone, cold at home. Just cooking for two tomorrow and then tea for veggies later, mushroom quiche and salad etc. My turkey from Sainsbury (for 3 people) cost me £21. Help.
Just a rather calm 5, and I can't wait. We collected out turket from Kelly's turkey farm this morning, picked up some of Jimmy's farm chippalatas and the rib of beef from the local farm is in the fridge. Enough meat to feed an army, but we have lots of friends coming between christmas and new year so it will all go eventually. ;D
5 of us in total - two humans, three cats, sharing one duck.
;D
