Maybe English rabbits don't eat leeks but the Dutch ones love it.
We have a lot of trouble with rabbits and when you see a neighbor allotmenteer's row of leeks mowed down and rabbit pellets around, you know what time it is.

We used to have a lovely open allotment complex and now it's a labyrinth of chickenwire fences against the rabbits, it looks awful.
When you do decide to put up anti-rabbit fencing make sure they can't dig underneath. They can jump over fences too, I've seen it happen.
No need to dig a deep trench to put the fence in, just a shallow one and fold the bottom 10-20 cm of the chickenwire outwards and cover with  a few cm of dirt. I've seen many attempts of burrowing under our fence, none successful. One meter high fencing with 80-90 cm above ground stops the bunnies.
