Manicscousers, the passiflora caerulea at my mothers gets a "trim" every spring but nothing severe and even though it is generally left to it's own devices it flowers it's socks off all summer with a few fruit forming too. We just keep it under control really.

great, it's clambering up the front of the fruit cage so I'll give it a little trim in spring, thanks  ;D

Can you eat the fruit? I got some tiny ones this year but just kept the innards to try to sow new ones from

You can eat the fruit but it's very bland. Why save seeds? If the fruit falls, it'll seed everywhere for years & years & years-------------

Though the seeds have quite a nice texture - crunchy without breaking your dentals.
