Title: Used postage stamps
Post by: Shirley on December 14, 2008, 18:34:29
Very often you see charities requesting used postage stamps as part of their fund raising.  I am just curious, what do they do with them to help raised funds, and what is the best way to give these stamps to the charity? Steam them off, leave them with a border of envelope, etc.

I believe they sell them on to stamp collectors all over the world.   I think they like 2 inches of surround where possible.  This is what I was told years ago.  Might be out of date.   I still collect mine and pass on to a friend who knows someone who collects them.
