I have asked DH for a subscription for christmas and want to find the best possible price! - I am not bothered about free gifts.

But it's online. That's how we subscribe, and I guess you either like online content, or you prefer the look and feel of paper.
But it's definitely the cheapest way!
thank you for your replies :) I like the idea of the online version but do you get to "keep" the copy? i.e. is it a pdf file? and is it easy to read? What puts me off though is the fact I do like to curl up with a mag.. not as easy with a laptop/pc!!!

Yes, you get to keep the electronic copy, readable with their "Zinio reader" which you can freely download. You can keep copies on more than one computer, too.
It's not an Acrobat pdf, but some similar format. The Zinio reader is a reasonable attempt at looking like paper. You have one level of zoom, and can easily move about the page, and click on a margin to go forwards (or backwards). It's quite good, but not as nice as paper.
Electronic copies do have one area of advantage if, like us, you keep your magazines for ages. They take up no physical space, they don't gather dust, and you can always find the copy you need.
My ideal would be to download my magazines onto an e-book like the Amazon.com Kindle system. I agree that you can't easily read a laptop in bed, but an e-book is a different matter. I suspect that magazines on e-books are still a couple of years away, though.

Marvellous! At last Adobe release all rights to the PDF file format so that anyone can write and read .pdf's, then some daft twit has to go and confuse the issue again. Re-inventing the wheel comes to mind.
I suppose we shall have to get some of the lads in S.E. Asia to work on it so that we can use it on any system.
