It's never too early to mention the C word - it's just 23 days away now ;D ;D (for all you bah humbugs ... you've stumbled in the wrong door)
So who will you be gettin' merry with? Who will you be fightin' for the last turkey drumstick? Who's going to be the embarrassing relative sticking both hands down the back of their trousers and stomping around to Come on Eileen after one too many sherries?
Blimey Sam, that sounds like me. ;D ;D ;D
I'm sure I'm not the only one for whom this is not a straightforward question!
So... on 21st Dec we (me, OH and 3 kids, possibly with 1 boyfriend attached) are going to mother-in-law's to see and exchange presents with all that side of the family (probably about 15-20 people).
Then on Christmas Eve my younger brother plus four daughters are coming to stay with us, plus maybe my Dad and maybe a friend (why won't people commit to anyhting! ::)
And at some point we will hopefully see my other brother and family, but they are away for Christmas week with his in-laws.
And then we have to decide about New Year! ::)
If telboy will give me the address, I'll be spending time with ...

I will be spending Christmas eve at mother-in-laws figuring out how to set up the kids Nintendo Wii. Once set up I may have to try each of the games ;D ;D
Christmas day will be the traditional family affair. Me , OH, Kids and the 'outlaws'
My folks and boyfriend x
My misses wanted to invite her two sisters plus family, it would of been nice to have them but we don't have the room for 7 extra people.
Our frontroom is only 12'x15' and has the dining table, travel cot and settee's in there, and the tree is not even in there yet.
When she is cooking, she is in the zone :P and no-one can talk to her.
We're just having my parents now :)
Neil
Just me, OH and Twiggy. We shall cook something different, probably beef and OH will make a Sweet Special. We shall enjoy that and maybe saunter up to Bro in laws for the Cheese course and a glass of Port for OH. Or, could make up some festive sandwiches and take our paper hats and visit the seaside, unless the roads are bad. Christmas in our house is quiet when you have NO family and thats the way I like it, BORING.
;) ;)
Well having had 12 here for dinner last year, this year we're all trooping up to my mum's for dinner. Then Boxing Day we all go up my Dad's eat more and I end up in bed by 8pm! ;D
Working till 1am christmas eve, christmas day off, back in on boxing day, just the way i like it. ;D
To be quite honest with you all. Tony and I are just going to enjoy sitting together watching all the films that will be on and doing bloody sod all. What bliss
Just my two sons and me. Christmas Day is "our" time, we left the stressful family christmases for 12 people behind years ago, and we really relish a saunter down the road to the pub, meet up with a few friends, lunch at 4.00 then chill out till bed time.
I always order the smallest turkey, because we do like it and it's the only time we eat it, and that way it doesn't go on for ages.
i am off xmas day so it will just be hubby and i and the birds we will visit his children but as most of my family will be in Paris it will be quiet, i am working boxing day but only on an early so not too bad
Me,OH and my two boys who I only have for Christmas every second year, this year they're spending New Year at the British Embassy in Sweden. We usually play lots of board games over Christmas. Chicken not Turkey we prefer it but with all the trimmings bread sauce stuffing etc. Last Christmas with my oldest before he heads out in to the big wide world.....
At home with the missus and her 2 boys, plus 3 or 4 of our friends who would otherwise be on their own for x-mas dinner (All our own veg, 'cept spuds) ;) and picked on x-mas day for freshness ;D ;D
Our kids are away this Christmas so we're celebrating with a party for our Home Group couples from church this Sunday evening.
(Come on over if you can and we'll put you up for some nights!!! Wouldn't that be cool!)
I'm making a DVD of video clips taken of this group doing ridiculous things over the years to show, we'll sing some Christmas songs as a guy stumbles over the keyboard, we'll take a group photo and we'll eat a turkey (only had to buy a couple hundred $$ worth of food :o ::)) I got for free and they'll bring the rest.
Just me and OH-we lock the door on Dec 23rd and pin a note saying `Bah Humbug go away.`
New Year should be a barrel of laughs as well-I go in for knee surgery Dec 30th :)
Just Ant and I on Xmas Day so nice and quiet. This is followed by the family invasion on Boxing day (11 in total). They will stay for a couple of days. I will be doing a 'buffet' on boxing day as that is easiest way for me to cater for them. On Xmas eve we will be going to a party at a friends. Our local friends, mainly Ant's friends he went to school with. Cheesy music, the compulsory 'quiz', some beer and secret santa.
Mum arrives on the 23rd, the kids are off school so once Mark is home Christmas Eve, we will lock the door and relax. Just the 5 of us - will park mum in a corner by the tree on Christmas morn with her stocking and a large G&T, and just keep topping it up throughout the day. This is the first time EVER we don't have to go anywhere and have no bugger arriving half was through the day, so the children can play with their goodies all day, Mark can watch all the Christmas day telly and me and mum can slowely get sozzled. We have a huge rib of beef and a goose for the big day, but we will probably eat late late afternoon.
Boxing Day we collect step daughter and dash to his folks where there will be upwards of 24 peeps for the day. Games (groan), more pressies, and plenty of food and drink.
Saturday off to my sisters for another Christmas day, but at least she is doing all the cooking.
Sunday, my family from Bedford are coming down for the day, so just 5 more bodies. More drinking and eating. Yay!
Well I'm at a loss what to do, I've had invites from Georgie, Sam, EJ, Shirlton and the Scousers, who ever I pick it will surely upset the rest, God sometimes it just doesn't pay to be popular. ;D ;D ;D
Hows about if we all have a little bit of ya. :-*
What bit do want. ;D ;D ;D
:-[
Hyacinth invited me to, but she told me not to tell. ;D ;D ;D
Oh well we will just have to shshshshaaaarrreee
