Post by: saddad on November 30, 2008, 19:22:35
Not sure if this belongs here or in bargains...
Was in B+Q the other day, dragged kicking and screaming by OH,
Wandered off to the seeds... Childrens selections of Sweetcorn/Pumpkins, exactly the smae variety and APC as the grown up seeds but prices!!
Adults Sweetcorn, £1.38... Adults Pumpkin 98p.... Children's selection of each 78p.....  :o

I will look out for the kids sections - do they get less seeds or is an age thing and VAT do you think?

Hi Sad....Lidl also do them cheap....29pence a packet and bigger seeds , I think 59pence. For example, Norfolk Giant Carrot 29pence against £1.99.
The wax beans I gave up on, went to seed too quickly, tho make a nice addition to the dried beans from growing french and runners, use them in stews. Soak overnight.

When in B&Q last week, I noticed that they still have a full range of seeds for the whole season so must have loads of last year's stock left.

Unlike other places (Wilkinson, Woolies etc) they don't seem to discount at the end of the season to clear the shelves.
