Title: Tomatoes for Christmas?
Post by: ceres on November 21, 2008, 21:26:55
Had some seedlings left over so planted them outside just beside the patio.  The outer ones gave in to blight around the same time as all the rest in this area.

These are today's photographs.  The one nearest the bulding is still going strong.  It's 10 foot tall, still flowering, and has ripening trusses despite the frosts.  And yes, that's a ripe cuke waiting to be picked!  Just shows how much building heat there is.

No, sadly it's only a small bed and because the rest of the toms got blighted, I probably won't risk it.  Thinking about what else would benefit.  It must be warm and there's a good water supply as the downpipe goes into a soakaway in the bed.  Perhaps train melons up the pipe!
