Title: Red Cabbage
Post by: hopalong on November 20, 2008, 17:31:01
I seem to have grown rather a lot of red cabbage but am not sure how best to cook (or not cook) it. Any delicious recipes out there? :-\

You can shredb it and layer it up with salt for a few days, then rinse dryand pack into jars with cider vinegar(i spice mine up with star anise).
It's also really good as a veg in its own right, i cook mine with apple juice and lardons of bacon, cover it with greaseproof paper and braise till tender
