First solo gig for 7 years, and first gig at all for 3 1/2 years (that was with the band). I'm quite looking forward to it... but is Guildford ready for me?!?!
Time for a come-back I think. I once pulled in crowds of up to er, about 20 at a time!!!
This was me 4 years ago...

Hope they don't walk out on you, Ollie, Good luck with the gig :-* :-* :-* :-*
Great news Ollie.
what kind of music are you into.?
Jim used to do lots of pub gigs.Good fun.
Think guitar...think John Renbourn.........Jim knows him pretty well.
Had a special treat,he came and played at a friends 50Th last year.
MAGIC :)
how interesting
you seem to be surrounded by a strange orange glow. Has the camera captured you in the process of being transformed into a higher life form on the Astral Plane, the Astral Plane, or did you just have some Reddy Brek?
and what's the"otting" on the drum kit short for?
good luck
Orange-flavoured readybrek :o :o :o
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX FACTOR COME ON
When is the gig Ollie ?

The music is kinda "Folky Punk" - or "Angry Folky stuff"... My favourites are early Dylan, Screaming Trees (Mark Lannegan), Sonic Youth & the like... plus I grew up hearing Highland Folk music! It's messy abstract stuff to a good heavy bit of guitar... And harmonica when I forget the words.
RT, I do move into a higher state when playing... it's like God fills me up & transports me to another dimension. Not really, I think the flash didn't go off! And the "otting" is "Vomspotting" - something to do with the drummer's weirdness.
It's Monday night, just a half hour slot...
Another one... before I get beamed up!

just got an ad at the bottom of the page "click here to be a guitar god real fast" Is it too late for me? ;D KUM BAYA MY LORD, KUM BAYA.......
Folky Punk is better than Pokey Funk. OR IS IT?
second one is old - he's smokin a f*g!
You tryin' to recruit groupies?
Ok, just checked my diary, am not busy, so count me in ;D
what do you call someone who hangs about with musicians?
the drummer
Good luck with your gig Ollie. Hope it goes well for you. ;D ;D

Neil

lbb
Lots of good luck Ollie. ;D ;D ;D
Ol, I'm not so green as cabbidge-looking ??? ::) ;)
I don't believe for one moment that you'll be off line for a few days while you have a little seaside hol, as you've told me :-\
I bet your family have banished you to the shed at the bottom of the garden to get away from yer 'practicing'. I bet they've locked you in & are feeding you spaghetti in strands through the keyhole. I bet I'm right 8) ;D
Jeez, I use two websites regularly, Can I not get away from this man and his bloomin gigs. All I get is "ollie is doing a gig" "Ollie says did i mention I was doing a gig?" Well Mr Clokie, YES, YOU DID MENTION YOU WERE DOING A GIG.
Hope its good one. LOL. ;D
F.
Best of luck Ollie. ;D ;D ;D
ollie have fun tonight
good luck
lbb
I've become a little horse! Not sure I'll make it through the set as it's pretty harsh on the shouting muscles... We'll see! Should be fun anyway!
GOOD LUCK, OLLIE :) :) :) :)
Let us know how it went xx
How did it go then Ollie? ;D
It went well thanks! They said I'm the shoutiest harmonica wielding solo act they've ever had. You know the feeling when you win over the other band's fans... Or at least shout so loud they can't carry on talking!
It is great when you know you have their attention, even better when you know they like it :)
I'm glad it went off well Ollie.
My son who plays pedal steel guitar in a group called "The Family" are supporting "The Bees" at the Ryde Theatre on the Isle of Wight on 7th December. I will be at home looking after the grandchildren for a long weekend, but I saw his group playing in Salisbury a few weeks ago and they were really good.
