Title: BLUEBELLS
Post by: rosebud on November 13, 2008, 21:11:56
We are going to rotovate a large area of garden that has hundreds of blubells in so if anyone lives in Suffolk = Lowestoft area and can collect you are welcome to come & dig some up.   Rosebud.

Hi Emma, we are just going to put small stones on it make it a sitting area, we are trying to make the garden low maintenance because it seems to be holding the sale of the property up, it is such a big garden & we cannot manage it now.

Emma, when we do dig it up i will save some for you & send a parcel of them ok, not sure when it will be though.  Mary ;D

Sounds like a good idea Mary.  Gardens can have such an influence on a house sale, and a lovely seating area could make all the difference.

Thanks for the parcel, I shall look forward to it.   :-*

Hiya,
Don't wish to be cheeky or out of order, (I'm new) but if I offered the cost of postage, could I have some too?! I have sewn two lots of seeds but bluebells are of my favorites.

Levi, if Rosebud hasn't got any, we are only just up the road (Alton as in Towers) and regularly travel over to where you are.

If you pm me I can get some dug up, but not at the moment as the ground is a bit stiff. ;D ;D

Sweeter than sweet, both of you, without being gooey, feels like I've joined a new'gang', in the nicest sense! Will PM you right now valmarg. Early Seasons greetings to you both. Hope to get chance to reciprocate in 2009.

Yes, you have, Levi.  You look young and I love to see young gardeners who are keen.  Keep looking on here and you will find that people are very generous and very kind too.  Some of the seeds I have been sent have not germinated but that will be down to me not doing it properly.  Others have done amazingly well. I do hope the ones I sent last summer were good.
It will be nice if you can reciprocate from time to time.

As you have sent me your address Levi, and we are reasonably near to where you live, rather than post the bulbs to you I could drop them off where you live.

Cheers Saddad, Am on the Tatenhill side of the A38 and stroll over your way regs! I know we've only just become acquainted but would it be ok to collect some sometime? Which sides you on? Am assuming collect from your plot, not inviting myself for dinner!

Valmarg, thank you, I thought you meant that anyways. You'd have to come close to house to get to Burton. I do school run between 3-4 but otherwise could be home most times.  I'd need good advance warning tho so's I can finally landscape the front garden. Shame. Fraid it's a case of 'fur coat and no knickers' here. I have to run out quick with me tools and Mantis, when I'm sneakin past the 'wildlife' garden' to go to my plot. Having said that, it is the only one of its kind on the street, so I'd be sad to have to work it!! The wildlife love me anyway.

Hope you two don't mind if I have a few off both of you, would that be 'bluebellin' I could swap some horganic 'meadow' with you.

Just checking, but these are English bluebells aren't they, not the dreaded Spanish invaders?

Yes definitely Barnowl.  Our rear boundary is an old hedgerow, and it's full of them.

On a warm Spring morning when they are in full bloom, to step out of the back door, the scent is absolutely fabulous.
