I am positive I have heard frogs screaming when my cat tries to play with them. Is this true, or my imagination going into overdrive?
My cat likes to tap them on the head, it makes them squeal! ::)
Sounds like a good name for a band! The screaming frogs! ;D
LOL! I don't think I would choose to listen to them though!
ha ha perhaps you are right Plocket - Sorry for doubting you!! ::)
Yes they do. Our cats bring them in through the cat flap in the middle of the night sometimes and play with them on the kitchen floor - they don't hurt them, they are fascinated by the way they hop so they just pat them with a paw to make them move. When the frogs get fed up they either dive into the cats' water bowl to get out of the way or scream for us to get up and move them.
Trouble is there aren't many frogs round our way and we get the same ones time and time again - it has now got to the stage where they make themselves a cup of tea while they are waiting ;D
Apparently it's only the males that scream when in danger. That's how you can tell if they are male or female when you pick them up. I've never heard any of mine screaming, so I wonder if they are all females!
Or you've never been nasty to them Aquilegia!
:'( Oh the poor things, I hate things hurt or crying. We've got some of those tall pot things, that florists put their flowers in,in the garden and they were half full of water, Frank was emptying one out and 3 frogs hopped out to. I think I'd better bring them in, they would never have got out. ;)
