Can anyone recommend a gas cooker? I bought a Parkinson Cowan 3 years ago and it was useless after the first year so really do need to buy a new one now but haven't got a clue which manufacturer to go for this time. Would never buy a Parkinson Cowan again.

Freestanding, hob, range? If you can narrow it down, I'll have a look at what Which? recommends as Best Buys.
Free standing ceres.
Thank you,

Beko DG582 - gas,
Have had it for a year now, chosen as we have a small kitchen and it fitted well, it's quite slim.
Easy to clean, 4 top burners, grill below and oven below that.
Should have taken notice of which way the oven door opened as it doesnt appear to be addaptable,
not a drop door.
The grill door doesn't open fully [ down ], makes it a bit fiddly for pulling out trays on the lowest shelf.
The oven isn't huge but have cooked a Christmas lunch on half those dimensions, so OK for
OH and me.
If you can, go to the most you can afford - there again ours was a bargain price but
' it does what it says on the tin '
Hope a few pointers that help when you are choosing --- how exciting !! :D
Can recall a funny cooking experience from way back -- will waite for another thread,

Sinbad, Beko seem to be a popular and reliable make in the low-mid price range. Seem to do the job.
Me, tho, I've got my mother's.......Parkinson Cowan :D It's got to be abt 30yrs old, I'd think, really solidly made, & after cooking on it for the 13 months or so when I went to look after her, when I came back home I gave my dual-fuel all-singing all-dancing range to the man who brought the P-C and other stuff over for me, as a trade off....don't make things like they used to, eh?
I've had a Cannon Salisbury for about 10 years and it's great. Took a bit of getting used to in terms of oven temperature and I find that things normally take longer than recipes say but now I know that it's no problem. I've tried electric and fan but still happiest with gas.
