Title: help i need onion sets
Post by: alisoncripps on November 04, 2008, 12:57:32
I've just taken on my allotment and have cleared some ground and now want to get something in. I was planning to put in some onions sets but our allotment shop has sold out. Where else can I buy them? I tried B & Q when I was buying some roofing felt for the shed but no luck. Do I need to get them mail order or go to a garden centre ? thanks for any help.

Do you have a Wyvale near you? I bought mine there last week and they'd got loads...

I was let down by thompson and morgan but have ordered some from Suttons 4 bags for less than £10. They have been sent out today and should be here by end of the week.

I would try there.

How many are you looking for? Our allotment shop gave me a ridiculous lot for £1 as they were trying to get rid of them....

Don't need loads just some to get started, I'll grow some from seed in the spring.

Thanks for all your replies. I've got some garlic, broad beans and someone has just given me some spring cabage to plant, that should keep me busy for now and I'll wait untill next year to plant some onins. Thanks again Alison.
