I have a Canon Pixma MP810 all singing, all dancing printer. For a while it has printed all pics with yellow/green horizontal stripes in the background. I haven't needed anything pukka for a while, so I haven't done anything about it, but it is begining to annoy me now. The manual doesn't deal with problems and there doesn't appear to be a help line. Sending it back to Pixmania is a last resort so I'm hoping it's fixable by me.

I have tried various qualities of paper and it's just the same.
Hi Emagggie.
Click 'start'.
Click 'All Programmes;.
Look for 'Canon seriers 180 on screen manual'.
Click it and it will open options. Select 'Print Problems' and find your problem.
I'm guessing either your FINE cartdrige isn't loaded properly or you need to do a cartridge print head clean. Try replacing the cartridge first and do a 'Test print'.

Printing the Nozzle Check Pattern
Print the nozzle check pattern to determine whether the ink ejects properly from the print head nozzles.
1. Make sure that the machine is on, load a sheet of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.
Set the Paper Thickness Lever to the left. See Paper Thickness Lever.
2. Press the Maintenance button repeatedly until A appears.
3. Press the Black or Color button.
The nozzle check pattern is printed. Do not open the Scanning Unit (Printer Cover) while printing.
4. Examine the pattern and take the appropriate action.
(The manual shows patterns and tells you what action to take.)

Done all that and every other kind of cleaning and aligning procedure but it's still the same. Back to Pixmania I suppose. :(

Does all your other colours work ok?
Have you tried brinting in black to see if it steel happens?
Sometimes the print heads partly dry up and need to be removed for cleaning.

All colours working ok. I found someone to talk to at Canon, and he advised me to re-install the printer as the problem only occurs when printing from the computer. (I didn't think of checking that ::))
This hasn't worked so I'm hunting for the receipt now then I'll send for the Techi.
