You can never find a torch that works in this house,so got myself a lamp. :)
Oh I have one of those. Before I bought a proper greenhouse heater, that is what I hung up and used to keep the greenhouse frost free ;D.
Ideal thing to have incase of power cuts too.
Don't forget the fuel ;)
good for the hard winter thats ahead when we have no power :-X
I like hurricane lamps, will have to look some out ;D
Just give me his name, I'll sort him out for you.
He won't cheat anybody else with his slap-dash tiling.
i prefer my petromax it gives a clean white light and not a orange glow like the hurricane lamp, i also have a coleman north star which is a fantastic lamp aswell. But still use the hurricane lamps in the greenhouse because they light instantly with no pressurising.

It was two she's not a he. ;D
Got me one of them wind up torches for the house from freeplay & one for the car from woolies for emergencies, haven't had to use either ion anger recently to see how original fares agains cheapo version. We get a lot of power cuts, being on the end of the bit of string here - first one we had I was reduced to using the light from the screen on my mobile to get around!
froglets no 2 daughter bought me one of those. Brilliant, enables me to see the keyhole when I come home in the dark ;D
I have 2 rechargable lights but lost the charger i am just trying to borrow one from a friend so i can charge them both up ;(
I just bought a wind up torch (batteries not needed) from Wilkos for £3.99. It's really bright, 1 minutes winding 30 minutes light. Now I'll be able to see to lock up my shed and walk to the car without any problems :D
Nostalgia! Just love them. I had the job of cleaning my Grandmother's 3 Valor lamp tin oven. No power in the Cornish '30s.
End of a piece of string? 18 months in the bundu in India - no power. Graduated onto a pressure lamp - yes, great white light, could actually see to write home! BUT - the doodlebugs also liked it &, because the window shutters had to be open in the heat, kept up their attack all evening, hitting One in the face. But at least the rats chomped their way through them later. Very scrunchy noisy!!
We have an LED lantern. Pretty useless, really - except in a power cut. You can't point it!
