Well what a plonker i am! Last saturday i spent the day in the garden planting my garlic, fruits and carrots. Thought it had been a really progressive day.
That was until i realised when planting drill means nice shallow line instead of holes!! So i now have my carrots planted in holes 4 cm apart instead of in a nice long line! As i said what a plonker ::)
Is there anything i can do to put this right or am i doomed :o
Its ok have a giggle,me and my partner have Doh!!!

Don't worry, took me agesto work out drills: I got the bit about making the long line but then couldn't work out if you were meant to make further holes in the bottom of the line, and if you were meant to fill the drill in after! ::)
I'm guessing tht your carrots will be fine if they are well spces, at the right depth and covered over again. I think that some people just do drill 'cos it's faster than making lots of individual holes....but I am happy to be corrected.
Oooh Luce, I'm giggling, but it's a mates-together sort of giggle, OK? Well you won't have to thin them out, will ya? ;D
If you planted them and didn't infill the holes (like if you were planting leeks) you're in there with a chance (what type carrits were you planting btw? that might help/hinder germination..)...there again, if you buried thm under inches of muck....duh!
Got the planting stuff quite wrong the first time I tried to grow shallots :-[ Didn't plant them, I interred them under acres of muck...RIP shallots....
Before then, got it most completely wrong when I planted a rhubarb crown - upside down.Three years later, when the poor thing was still struggling to do its thang and produce stalks (albeit 3" long by the time it had grown round and up over) and someone kindly told me to reverse it - I had a Wondrous Crop ;D
It's all learning, innit, and if we can have fun along the way, it's the best sort 8)

at least it wasn't on tv..I remember chef, James Martin, putting in whole packets of lettuce seeds into 2' drills ;D
if that's the only thing you do, you'll do fine :)

Update!
I have something sprouting under the sun tunnel but not sure if its carrots sprouting or weeds!!! Its probably weeds but i got all excited anyway :)
So can some one help by posting a pic or a link to where there is a pic of carrots just stating to sprout?
All i can find is pics of fully grown so can't really tell!

Thanks grawrc have had another look and think ive come to the conclusion that its probably weeds! By the looks of it hen carrots first start growing looks like fine grass! They things in my su tunnel have 2 clear rounded leaves so far!

Well even though i planted them wrong, then mistook weeds for carrots :-[. I checked today and hurrah definitely carrots sprouting!!! ;D
I'm so excited rand my mum partner and nan to tell them and now had to tell you.
