Title: drying beans for storage
Post by: Sparkly on October 27, 2008, 21:51:48
My bean tower gave in to the high winds. The plants are coming to and end, but I was planning to dry the butter beans on the plant. As the tower is now collapsed in a heap I am guessing they will start to rot. If I remove the pod the beans and leave them in the greenhouse shall I hold out much hope? The pods are still fresh, but mature.

They say if you can hang the pods up with as much of the plant as you can salvage, they'll do better, but in previous years I've dried the pods on their own with no problems.
