Title: What else can I plant now?!
Post by: luckybear on October 24, 2008, 16:53:42
Recently got allotment, strimmed it, now it's a huge empty plot of grass!

Last weekend, dug our first 6 x 8 foot plot and planted onions, garlic and shallots.

What else can we plant at this time of year, or should we just be preparing our plots ready for the spring?

Thanks.

winter onions

broad beans

sweet peas.

However, you do not gain a lot by doing so and it will mean that you will have to weed the patches sooner. The early planted areas can end up looking untidy when you put in your spring crops on freshly dug soil.

If you can suppress the urge, wait.
