Me thinks that is a quince.
Definitely a quince. When ripe add grated bits to any apple recipe to increase the flavour of the apples.

Ah, EJ and Eric, but is it a Cydonia oblonga Quince, or is it a Chaenomeles Quince? To me the fruits look more spherical than pear-shaped. If the bush has thorns, and depending on the colour of the flowers being correct, I would be more inclined to go for Chaenomeles Japonica or Speciosa
It looks the same as my Japonica fruits
