well its a very small tree lol ;D can it stay out all winter or does it need to come indoors please?
thanks
debs
I have a bay tree Debs and its always lived outdoors in my garden. They are hardy. Mine was planted outdoors seven years ago as a very small plant about four inches tall its now 8 feet tall!!!!!
If yours has always been outside it should be fine!!
Duke
yes it has it had a couple of nights in when we first got it but that was months ago
thanks again
Yes Bay is hardy, but it hates cold winds. If you can put it in front of a west-facing wall it will be very happy.
Mine is a few years old now and at first it stayed indoors over winter then went outside again in summer.
Then it got too big and I planted it outside over winter about three years ago.
It is now too big for it's outside spot and has had to be hacked back severely.
I am in the North West UK where it is cooler than a lot of other areas.
