your plots dug over..its all done and dusted...time to dream of 2009..it will be the best season ever
but how will you pass the time away from your favourite past time till next spring.
hi jim, plenty of projects to keep us going at the plot, least not all the secretary stuff, recently took on.also taking up 8 belfast sinks from home for a herbery, moving his shed, building rockery around said shed, seeing to the overwintering stuff, ordering seeds...looking endlessly at said seeds. whats my chances of getting the living room decorated before christmas...slim id say!
x
GUY ON NEXT PLOT HAS...BELFAST SINKS enlighten me ..never seen one
Loads to keep us busy on the plots all winter !!!
Let alone the stuff to do at home to get the fuchsias ready for the 2009 show season !
And the sweet peas im sowing soon will need care.

A white earthenware sink, they are coming back into fashion now. If they are in good condition they will be worth more than as plant pots.

Me too! Still plenty of digging, overwintering onions, shallots & broad beans to plant/sow... Then more digging, build some raised beds, tie things up, plan next years layout, drool over catalogues...

i will be spending my winter days in the abov link planing over a pint of real ale with a few fellow plotters
jim
A,g.m next month getting the books ready to go to the auditors still other work to do,repairs to the greenhouse etc. in-between i will sit down in my comfy chair with a mug of tea in front of my wood burning stove and catch up on some reading if i don't fall asleep.
my plot is about 5 weeks old now so i think iwill dig weed and build and then i shall build weed and finish off with a little lite digging (i wish)
Working in other peoples plots. :-\
I have plot plans for rotation to do when the weather is too cold (for me) this winter. Seed catalogues to peruse ;D.
Newspaper pots and milk carton plant labels to make.
I intend making some heavy duty cloches/mini polytunnels for next year.
I'll make the frames in the garage. I'll paint them, dismantle them and they will be rebuilt ready to have the poly added when I get to the lottie. Easier for carrying.

My thoughts exactly.... or maybe Geoff Hamilton all those years ago!
I just watched it a couple of hours ago.....!
I'll be like everyone else frantically using winter to catch up with the jobs that haven't been done.
