.....is phoning someone on the waiting-list to tell them there is a plot available. The woman I just phoned was really happy and excited and broke off the conversation to tell her husband the good news. It was almost like I was phoning to tell her she'd won the Lottery!
Yes I can understand that............what fun :)
we've just let out 2 half plots, both couples are over the moon, our half plots are just 4 beds but they're delighted ;D
Ah we have an allocations officer too so I just get to send the nippy letters :'( :'(
Mind you they're jolly happy when they get a plot improvement one (i.e. your plot is much better than when I first wrote).
Same here grawrc !
Still nice to see the newbies getting to grips with their plots, we have a few new ones who must think everything is done by the fairys :(

Yesterday a plotholder came to see me clutching letters he'd received from the Council giving him seven days to quit his plot. This is despite the fact that I had written to our Allotments Officer to tell him that the man had done work on his plot and we were happy to let him continue. Obviously a mix-up in the Council office, but the man was furious. I managed to calm him down and apologised for the mistake - which wasn't even mine!

As treasurer I don't even get the nice bits to do.... :'(

After the year we have just had.....there are nice bits?! ???
There's loads and load's of bad bits and at times real hard work but the good bits make up for it, the stories you get to hear and I love the propositions and the things plot holders expect you to do for them are a real laugh.
