It's not often that I actually say 'wow' out loud but I did just that when I opened this photo sent by my brother this morning. He lives in South Africa and 'down there' their spring is just getting into full swing.

Beautiful! In Queensland (Australia) the academic year runs from January to December. When the jacarandas flower it's a reminder to all students that exams are looming and it is time to crack on with revision.
A well justified Wow!!" What a great photo.
amazing
Eric is jetting off to south africa in november, I'll show him what he's got to look forward to..lovely pic ;D
So glad you all liked it! x
Just had another email from little brother:-
'The jacarandas are everywhere in Pretoria, literally every road in the east of the city and around 50% of roads overall. It is very spectacular at the moment because there are also lots of red bouganvilleas and also Bauhinia Variegata or 'orchid trees' which are also brilliant.'
Sounds like Eric is in for a real treat, manics!
Absolutely stunning, Grandma.
I think I have some Jacaranda seeds somewhere - furious search now beginning!
Wow, what a lovely picture !!
