I was doing some tidying up in the garden on Sunday and discovered my snowdrops...hidden by all the summer stuff.......IN FLOWER!!! :o
Anybody else.
Sort of spoils spring...they've flowered the end of November before.
I've got primroses and wild sweet violet in flower since mid September. at least they waited till September this year last year they simply didn't bother to stop flowering :-\ ::).
Must check my primroses, they will also be hidden by summer foliage. I think I have seen violets flowering recently but it probably didn't hit me as quite as unusual as the snowdrops.
No, there's no sign of my Snowdrops yet (thankfully) but my Primroses are out and my Rosemary is flowering again.

One of my clients thinks I'm the best gardener she's ever had.
I've managed to get her roses to flower in Oct ,for the second time this year, and also one of her clematis (pic : http://www.allotments4all.co.uk/smf/index.php/topic,46280.0.html)
Apparently this has never happened before. I told her its the 'special' home made compost I use. :)
My sweet peas and passion flower are still modestly flowering.
Still have some flowering roses. :)
Just to put the record a little straighter, you can have snowdrops in flower from now (a bit early true) until April..................as long as you choose the right varieties.
Yes but this one used to flower in spring, it has flowered in November (2006). Last year it flowered in early February.
Hi Kea,
As yourself, cleared a load of 'Golden Rods' that were taking over one area & found a load of snowdrop bulbs.
Put 'em all back'.
:D :D :D
i have roses, lavender, rosemary, cyclamen, sweet peas, clematis, primroses, pelargoniums, hellebores and snowdrops! :o :o :o seriously weird.
My rosebush generally doesn't stop flowering until about Jan time, my lavendar is still going. I've had all sorts of things growing at weird times. I put it down to the sea air!
Grawrc i have all of those except I haven't checked the primroses or the hellebores yet.
Up at my allotment yesterday the nasturtuims were back after being eaten by the caterpilliars they died back after a cold snap and I thought they were gone but they're looking healthy and flowering. My astrantia is back in flower and so are the hardy geraniums. The lavenders at home are finished long ago but the one at my allotment is in full flower. No sea air here!
The wallflowers that never got taken out after flowering are in full flower again now, will they flower again next year do you think?
One of my reblooming irises is in flower. I bought 6 varieties in the USA five years ago but this is the first to rebloom. They started off as tiny little rhizomes and had to be sent by post with a "Phytosanitary Certificate".
It is called "English Cottage".
I have roses in full bloom, also clematis, passion flower and my Magnolia Susan is still in flower.
what month are we again ??? i found a cowslip in flower today in the flower beds :-\ ::)
More surprises (more tidying up going on) my achillea is about to flower again as well.
