Hi, I have recently acquired a Lawnflite S900 Strimmer without operating instructions an/or handbook.
What fuel mix do I need and how? The engine is a Shingu Shoko 19.8cc type. Many people have advised me but all comments contradict.
Kindest Regards

If you cannot get the right answer, mix some 20 to 1 if there is too much smoke try 25 to 1, keep weekening the mixture until it hardly smokes. I would not go higher than 25. You will not hurt it with too much oil. It will oil the plug up, but that can soon be cleaned.
I expect if you emailed the importers, they will sent you a manual to download.
Going off my Mantis tiller the mix is 50 to1, but generally the mix is about 4 ounce of two stroke oil to a gallon of petrol, :)

I broadly agree with this advice - it's certainly true that you won't do any harm by being slightly rich, whereas you will do damage by running it too lean. But it's been a while since I've seen any small 2-stroke needing anything richer than 25:1. I'd start with 25:1, and if that is at all smoky, go to 30:1. As Mr Smith says, it might well be 50:1.
One thing I would advise is to buy good quality synthetic 2-stroke oil.
All the strimmers I've had dealings with are 40:1 mix. I think our hedge trimmer is 30:1. Agree about good quality oil.
My Chain Saw is 50 to 1
If you use Stihl oil, it is 50:1. Great oil - fully recommend!
