Don't know about you folks but I'm always looking for inspiration in the kitchen! It's a bit like "What did you do in the garden today...." so many things I forget about and that thread always reminds me to do it.
We had potatoes and leeks baked in milk with steamed Italian calabrese and pork tenderloin seasoned with salt and pepper, flash fried in a little butter and olive oil then sliced.
Anyone willing to give me some ideas for tomorrow's supper :)

Shepard's pie.
We never tire of it. :)
Last night we had Chicken Chassuer (only the chicken & white weren't mine) ala James Martin from Saturday Kitchen.
Roasted parsnip, yellow carrot and Buttercup squash. Fresh sweetcorn - taken off the cob ad boiled.
Plus inspiration of the moment as I have had a good celeriace year - celeriac and swede mash. My OH who desn't like celeriac said it was the best mashed potatoes he had had ever - as very light and fluffy. I then told him no potato in it. :)
Tonight onion tarts as per Val Warners recipe on What to eat now.
Savoury mince with butternut squash mash, peas (not mine :() and savoy cabbage.
See it worked Betula! ;D

Home made meatballs in a rich tomato sauce, served with (home made) oven chips :P
pork loin with roast potatoes, sweet potatoes, roast onions, , broccoli in cheese sauce, peas and sweetcorn, oh, and some cabbage that needed using up..all the veggies are ours ;D
Last night we had chicken breasts stuffed with haggis and whisky and tied together with streaky bacon + roast potatoes, carrots and cabbage.
Tonight pure comfort food: chilli sausages, red onions and garlicky mash.
Awwwwwww Grawrc - might just save that one for Burns Night ;) - well it's chicken on the menu tomorrow - thanks Suzanne

Bit weird, we had our own roasted butternut squash and potatoes with mushy peas!
;D
Suzanne, I tried James Martin's recipe for chicken chasseur too! Not the real thing, but very tasty!
;)
mmmm that all sounds lovely. i have just had bubble and squeak. :D
we are having spinach lasagna
:) and salad
lbb
It was lasagne for us tonight too.
I always make four individual smaller ones in ovenware dishes, rather than one big one, more washing up but easier to serve.

hey snap, i have some cute individual dishes and make everyone their own, as well as being easier to serve it means
i can vary whats in them for each person if i need to

OK it wasn't quite the envisaged chicken chasseur tonight as we both had to work late! ::) As I'd already defrosted the joints had to do a speedy Chez Ninswhen we got in. I put them in a casserole dish with chopped onions and garlic, giant radish seed pods, salt and pepper, dried thyme and a tad of basil. Found a can of Caffreys left over from our son's last visit which needed to be used up - so that went in too. Popped it in the oven and it's cooking now, I'll thicken the sauce in the morrow.
Our cheat tonight was ham, eggs and parsnips chips.

Leftover chicken from the Sunday roast - with - potato, onion, carrot, peas, b/nut squash, leftover gravy, stock and a habanero for extra zip. A real winter warmer, who needs central heating ??? ??? ???
Mmmmm,Grawc - love the idea of chicken stuffed with haggis. Now need to find some good haggis down south!

Real comfort food for me tonight...cumberland sausage, peas, mash and onion gravy - at the pub, after a Hard Day's Shopping in the city.. 8)
Parmesan crusted chicken breasts, tomato and basil salsa with a potato, pepper and onion warm salad.
Oh says we can have it again so either it was good or the bottle of Rioja blurred his judgement. ;)
We had roast lamb, garlic, roast pots, runner beans, spinach, but I really, really fancied pancakes, so we had two each with lemon and sugar. Very easy and very tasty.
I cooked a fab pork tenderloin from the farmer's market. Sliced and pan fried with loads of garlic, herbs and creme fraiche and a handful of baby spinach leaves a minute before serving. Accompanied by sliced potatoes, onions and taleggio cheese slow cooked with a little stock till meltingly soft. Wonderful, if I say so myself!
pumpkin soupy stew and dumplings (veg suet)

Good old fashioned stew................simmering nicely now on the hob.
Smells wonderful. :)
Sliced potatoes and onions and unpeeled garlic cloves partially roasted with salt, pepper and oregano then stock added and lamb steaks. All returned to the oven for 40 minutes. Quite delectable.
As we are moving and trying to empty the freezer..dinner has to be the first thing the hand touches when we lift the lid!!
Yesterday I made a 6litre pot of spaghetti sauce to use up extra toms so we had pasta last night, the rest went in the freezer LOL.
Today I am cooking duck with an orange wine sauce and using frozen aparagus from the lottie and other veggies, dessert is Banoffi Pie.

Yes - it's pumpkin time and on the menu for lunch tomorrow - pumpkin soup!!!!!
Lamb's liver, bacon, onions, creamed potatoes, runner beans and peas with lashings of gravy :P

Last night we were "home alone" so I treated us to Duck breasts with Puy Lentils, Carrot & Squash puree, Peas & Potato rosti, was delish!
Pork tenderloin thinly sliced, tossed in flour seasoned with salt, pepper and paprika, gently fried in olive oil until sealed. Thinly sliced garlic added until softened, added about a desert spoonful of the seasoned flour to soak up the oil, then a little vegetable stock and single cream. Served over pasta.
Only a few calories ::)

Was treated to lunch out today.........lovely :)
Resurrecting an old thread but, hey ho, another season starts!
Having had a hearty weekend with steak, mushroom and ale casserole and cricket teas, darling hubby wanted something light after me picking more peas!
So it was (Lester's) pea omelette on the menu tonight :)
Linda
Steak and kidney pie with minted new potatoes and baby carrots. Then fresh stawberries and some rhubarb and custard tart.
