Title: Gooseberry bush Question
Post by: Duke Ellington on October 09, 2008, 15:18:01
I was wondering [not having grown them before] how many bushes are required for a decent crop of gooseberries. I dont have loads of room but was wondering if one bush might enable me to make at least a batch of jam and a gooseberry crumble. Is one bush enough for a family of two?

Yes, one is enough, but it take a couple of years to get enough for a pie and 5 to be fully grown.

Take some cutttings as well and grow a couple of standards, they are easier to pick.
