Title: Bare root strawberry plants.
Post by: Rainbow on October 09, 2008, 12:46:52
My bare root strawberry plants have just arrived through the post and are looking a bit sad for them selves (not too bad though) and I cant get to lottie today to plant them. Ive put the roots in water - is this the right thing to do and will they be okay like this for a day or two?

I am not the expert on bare root plants but what about - if you have any compost at home,  putting them in small pots?

Yes to both questions!

Put the roots in a bowl water for around twenty four hours, drain off then just leave them in the bowl and each plant will keep the next plant moist until you can plant out at the weekend.
