Its on the stem and leaves of my Brussel Sprouts ~~~what should I do about it ?
Duke
It could be damp of sorts, because the plants are too close together and air is unable to circulate. I had this last year and was told that that is what it was. I removed the infected leaves and the sprouts and plants were all fine. Leave the plant tops on though, and do not remove leaves that are not yet infected though it may spread to some others. I did not worry about it and sprouts tasted OK.
I posed this same question last month and was advised
"the white fly needs spraying every couple of days they breed like fun the black stuff is left by the white fly try hoseing the sprouts with water"
If you are having a problem with white fly and you don,t want to spray with insecticide, try and get Stergene washing up liquid and spray with that.
Thanks all
